Fellow NJ Photographers,

I will be hosting a photo seminar on how to use off camera lighting tomorrow Mar 20th at 7 a.m. in the historic Smithville Park. If you are coming from I-295 on Rt. 38 you will turn left at the light right before the Tractor Supply Co. and then go down the road a little way and make a right. You will go down this big empty tree lined road a little way and turn left into the HUGE paved parking lot with lines painted for parking spaces. We'll be on the right hand side somewhere. If you plan on attending this free event, please send me an email if you didn't receive my phone number in case you get lost. I have 2 models coming out and hope that more SJ Photogs show up too. The beauty of it is that you get to use my off camera lighting equipment and I'll teach you how to use it if you don't know how. This is going to be fun and I hope everyone of our members can show up to show support. I know it's a little early, but I'm trying to make it before sunrise so the light will be perfect from the sun. Please contact me or post here if you have any questions or need direction. This is a FREE event...

The location is either off E. Railroad Ave or the next street up from Rt. 38.

1. Head northeast on I-295 N toward Exit 40A 0.6 mi
2. Take exit 40A to merge onto NJ-38 E toward Mt Holly 8.9 mi
3. Turn left at Smithville Rd 0.4 mi
4. Take the 1st right onto E Railroad Ave 0.1 mi

The New Jersey Register of Historic Places is the official list of historic resources of local, state, and national interest in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The program is administered by the Historic Preservation Office of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The register was established under the terms of the New Jersey Register of Historic Places Act of 1970 (N.J.S.A. 13:1B-15.128 et seq.) The New Jersey Register is closely modeled after the National Register Program. Both Registers have the same criteria for eligibility, nomination form, and review process. Virtually every municipality in New Jersey has properties significant in architecture, history, archeology, engineering and/or culture that are eligible for the New Jersey and National Registers.

I am usually in the minority when it comes to living here. Most people love it. It is good for arthritis but allergies often get worse. As with anyplace there is good and bad. Autumn is my favorite time of year so it's particularly hard for me right now. My husband loves it here, my daughter moved here before we did. They wouldn't go back. I'd go in a heartbeat. But I have to admit that I don't miss the humidity even though you do get something in exchange for that humidity. Green in the summer and beautiful colors in the fall. Did I mention my Labrador found a baby rattlesnake in the front room ? :) Looking forward to those autumn pics, guys. Absolutely love your photos!
