Hi,

My name is Hazel and I am the secretary of the Plymouth and District photography club , Plymouth.

I saw your site on Cornwall and decided to join as I do a lot of Cornish Landscapes and have been looking through the gallery and wow what beautiful shots there are from you all.

Our Club is every wednesday at Welcome Hall , Devonport and starts at 7.00 pm , or if you would just like to go on our mailing list we can e mail you with all the latest up dates as to what we are about and when we meet, field trips, guest speakers etc.

We don't just meet on a wednesday but we also meet up at weekends as we are very much a social club as well as photography, in fact I consider the club my extended family now and have so many friend there.

If you have any question please get in touch , we also have a flick group and face book page, if you are interested just drop me a line.

Entrance fee will be £2 per person no matter whats going on

Meetings will take place EVERY Thursday evening from 7.15pm at the Crownhill Family Centre, Crownhill Fort Road, Plymouth, PL6 5BX
There is ample car parking, great disabled access, a bar and its nice and warm in there.
Photographers under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent but are very welcome, the parent does not have to pay if accompanying a under 18, but likewise if you want to get your younger family members involved please feel free to bring them along, EVERYTHING we will do, cover or present will be suitable for any age group.
Entrance fee will be £2 per person, raffle tickets are optional at £1, with a£10 cash prize.
Refreshments will be available, tea & coffee (with biscuits) are 50p a cup, squash etc.
Bring your cameras and any questions or ideas you may have.
Tell your friends, everyone is welcome.
This group is all about learning, helping each other and putting into practice anything you know or learn.
We will have beginners classes and lessons with practical sessions. We intend to have speakers & tutorials on all manner of things including Photoshop, along with studio evenings with models of the appropriate age, to teach you lighting etc.
We will be putting on regular trips, for any member & spouses, family members who wish to come, including our annual trip, which we have run for the last 6years to Focus on Imaging at the Birmingham NEC at the beginning of March. seats are first come first served and we have always sold out, disappointing many

Please remember that this is a club for photographers of any age, level, or mobility, whether you are a total beginner, or a full-on professional, you are all welcome to come along and join in.

EVERYONE is welcome, there will be lots of help given, all questions answered and put into practice, we are all about helping you improve your photography, don't think you can take pictures, I'll prove you wrong, just ask anyone who's ever had my help and that of the people around me...

We will be covering EVERY ASPECT of photography, including editing, camera settings, understanding camera menus, composition, rules and how to break them, telling your camera what you want it to do not the other way round, lighting techniques, metering, HDR ( if you must ), trips out, practical use, plus much much more....
For every subject we cover you will have a hardcopy covering the subject(s) so you don't even have to remember it or take notes, and if you still don’t understand it don't worry , just ask and we can run through it...NO PROBLEM
and remember NO question is stupid, silly or wrong to ask, we all started at the beginning we are now going to pass on what we have learnt.

This Wednesday, please bring your cameras, so we can sort out, get to grips with and demonstrate Depth Of Field with you. If you want to bring a few things to photograph please feel free .. and don't forget your questions.  If we have time we can cover a few other bits as well.. I have prepared a handout as well so if you don't catch everything that is said and feel embarrassed to ask, you can read up on it  We also have  Mark doing his thing with Lightroom and I think something with Photoshop Please bring a couple of images with you..
