From what I can make out, the largest proportion of Saami people live in Norway.
So I have decided that as long as the costumes are Norwegian Saami, I will allow them.
Costumes from the other countries are not really eligible for this particular group.

I have done a search for Saami groups here on Flickr and found 3 that seem to be relevant. 2 of them only have one member and no photo's posted. The other is of all things Saami related including cities etc.

If you have a lot of photo's, maybe it's worth you starting your own group ;-)

That's a good question. My opinion is that they should be allowed but I'm not entirely sure (being English myself) if they are considered Norwegian or not. I will look into it so keep an eye out for a reply.

If anybody wonders what kind of belt this is; it's a "konebelte" - that is; the belt was ment for married women to show their status. Nowadays everybody wears one (or at least those who can afford one).

I was surprised that no-one had already come up with the idea when I started this group.
It's tough going trying to get people to post though and there don't seem to be that many around.

Just lately I have noticed that there are a couple of other folk dress type group that have popped up recently and seem to use this group as a way to find pics for their own. A bit annoying but nice to know we are useful for something. lol
