~ The MENTORS OF STRATEGY project~

Add a photo of a species of life form. - A seed, insect, plant, sea life form, mammal (not human), invertebrate or other life form(s).
---
I make it into a series of photos. - I use the photos to tell a story. You are the illustrator. - Multiple photographers can contribute to the same series.
---
Single photos are welcomed. - Single photos will be grouped with others of the same species.
---
Tag your photos as best you can, with common name, right down to species.
---
Feel free to add tags to other people's photos if you can classify theme more accurately.
---
As few as 1 and as many as 6 photos are welcome.
---
Nearly the same species is fine if the life form is within the same genus, phylum or family.
---
Each month, one very good series will be presented in Mentors Of Strategy: An online presentation with well-researched scientific facts about the life form your have photographed.
---
Photographers will be given credit to promote their photography - After all, the photos are half of each project. A link to photo credits in the presentation will take viewers to your Flickr image. This will increase your exposure and bring more people to your images on Flickr. - The online presentation is free to all. Also the Newsletter. It will be presented on the MentorsofStrategy.org website. www.mentorsofstrategy.org
Free to all.
---
All species welcome.
---
Be sure to read the rules and inspect the website link in the rules before uploading your photos.

Putting It All Together posted a new topic:

Your single photo can be included with others of the same genus, family or species.

Tag it with a common name if you are unsure. Other biologists in the group may add tags to it to classify it more completely.

Single photos add depth and variety to the presentations. So please add your photos even if you have just one of a species. Other group members will make up the remainder of photos.

Thanks for submitting your image. :)

I think it is actually simple but I agree the concept would be confusing to many people because it is the opposite of what would normally happen.

I looked up the Help on this. It seems that adding photos as a discussion is confusing to many people. Not simple.
It appears the simple way to group them is to search images by tag name.

Its clear Hank. I had to think how to best tag the series so they were searchable by others (whether to do individual words i.e. attacus and atlas or "attacus atlas"). Tags would need to be fairly specific to locate the same species in a large pool. For example, searching tag moth would be too general. But I think this would come down to the smarts of your group members.
Is it better to post a series as a discussion with the discussion clearly titled? As you use a series on your weblink, you could add those pictures to the pool. That would also mean others could add images to someone else's species series and it would be easy to see and we would all be notified via group recent changes. This means the discussion section would be the largest part of this group and the pool would be showing the best of what is submitted.

Hi,
Do you think the rules are clear enough?
Have I communicated clearly?
Is the link to the project clear enough?

I want to be transparent in the purpose of this group.
Can I improve in any way?

Hank
