What do all Airbus aircraft have in common? Each of the names for the families of our commercial aircraft begin with the number 3, as in the A320, A330 and A380.

To celebrate our affinity for Threes, we’re going to have our “Good Things Come in 3’s” photo contest. We want to see your creativity. Show us your photos that revolve around Airbus aircraft and the number three. Whether it’s three Airbus aircraft or planes that somehow have the numeral three in the photo, whether it is the N-Number, the terminal gate or the number as part of its livery.

You have until noon EDT on Wednesday, Dec. 5 to load your photos. You will be able to vote for your favorite photos from noon EDT on Dec. 5 until noon on Friday, Dec. 7, with the top 16 photos advancing to next round.

The following timing will run for each of the rounds:

• General Voting: Dec. 5-7

Eugene Delaney has won the Vacation Photo Contest. The photo of a Lufthansa A340 heading from Boston to Munich competed against 380 amazing Airbus Vacation Photos.

Congrats Eugene, and we will be in touch about the delivery of your prize, a 1:400 ratio A320neo model AND a A380 1:400 ratio.

Airbus in the U.S. Vacation Photo Contest Voting is Live

It is time to start voting for “Airbus in the U.S. Vacation Photo Contest”. After sorting through 375 photos of Airbus aircraft that had the U.S. as the origin, destination or both of your trips, we have selected 16 photos for the quarterfinals. Voting is conducted on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/AirbusInTheUS.

In the first round of voting, we have divided the photos into four pools You can vote for your favorite photo in each pool by simply clicking on the picture that you'd like to vote for and click "like." Your vote will then be registered. You can only vote once. The photo with the most “likes” wins the pool.

Voting for the first round will conclude on Friday, Sept. 7 at noon EDT. The winners of each pool will advance to the semi-finals, with the finals beginning next Monday afternoon, Sept. 10. The champion and winner of the 1:400 ratio A320neo model will be announced at the close of voting on Thursday, Sept. 13 at noon EDT.

We've seen some great aviation photographs. Monday is the deadline to get your photos submitted for the 2012 Airbus in the U.S. Vacation Photo Contest. We will select 16 photos for the quarterfinals of the voting on our Facebook page, with voting starting on Wednesday.

Please remember that the photo need to:

* Have the U.S. as either the origin, destination or both of your trip.
* Taken in 2012

Enter those photos so you can be the first one on your block with an A320neo!

Thanks for sharing those great aircraft photos. So far, we have 121 entries.

Remember, the contest will run through the Labor Day weekend, when we will choose the top 16 photos for our Facebook fans to vote on for their favorite photo. The winner will receive a 1:400 scale A320neo model.
