Just to let you people know I've just been told some of my photographs have been selected by my club and entered into the exhibition at the Piece Hall, Halifax. Wow

The theme is 'sports and pastimes'

I believe the exhibition will run a few weeks.

The group can only hold so many photos, so the old ones are removed to make room. I generally tag mine with 'West Yorkshire Snappers' and the name of the meetup, so they can still be found.

Yes, I had some misgivings about the voting thing. I can understand how it might be fun/useful to identify the best shots of a shoot. More important though is how we help and encourage each other to become more proficient and satisfied with our individual work.
Having said that, I don't really have an alternative. I've favourited a couple of the new year shots and would be quite happy to say why I did so when we next meet. Perhaps that's a way forward?

Hi guys

Currently we are voting for what we think are the top 3 shots
from the entire group,this is ok,but it could result in some people
not having any votes.Over a period of time this could be demoralizing.
I think a fairer system would be to vote for everybody's top 3 shots online
in the first instance.We can show these shots at the 'show and tell'and have another vote on the night to decide the winner.
This will create opportunities for us all to discuss our work,and
prevent the creation of an elite who win everytime to the detriment
of other members of the group.
