The Reuters agency photographer Dylan Martinez tests the maxi-telephoto lens and tries to capture the first image of the new Pope. It is a 1200-1700mm telephoto lens that is an amazing 16 kilograms, is 888 mm long (237 mm the diameter). The minimum focusing distance is 10 meters.

I seem to have better luck with Flickr very early in the morning and very late at night.
The Aviary app is a bit more varied than Picnik but just as slow and quirky about working when it wants to. What is the point of having an app if you can't access it? Probably better off without it.

Hi Dudes and Dudettes!!

I'd like very much to thank many of the outlaws (You know who you are!) for their support and sincere best wishes to my Mum who has had a long illness! May I say she has expressed a wish to Thank all of you and has enjoyed looking at your many varied and wonderful images! It's given her the chance to escape the boundries of her chair and travel in her mind to the many fabulous places that YOU dear people take her to with YOUR OWN JOURNEYS of discovery!!.............and what journeys they are too!! Brilliant!!.........................a worldwide tour if you will, not a bad trip for a 93 year young lady, EH!!!! ;-)

I do apologise if my commenting is a bit sporadic, and as times permits I hope to address that a.s.a.p.

For for the time being fantastic Outlaws, my personal thanks for making this group such a great bunch of people, and do continue to get to know each other..................there are many gems to be found here among you GREAT PEOPLE!..............and friendships that will last and span the globe!!
