Vintage Buses in Middlesbrough this Sunday

SUNDAY 22nd APRIL - 11 A.M. TO 5 P.M.
You can travel back in time on this famous 1958 Middlesbrough Dennis,
and ride on up to eighteen other vintage buses.

Four routes between the Transporter and Stockton High Street, calling at stand 13 in Middlesbrough Bus Station.

Travel is free; souvenir descriptive programmes with timetables £4.00.

Take a ride on vintage buses in Middlesbrough

The Teesside based 500 Group will once again be holding their Teesside Vintage Bus Running Day on Sunday 22nd April 2012.

The event is based at The Transporter Bridge, Middlesbrough from 11.a.m.

There will be up to eighteen vintage buses and coaches running on five timetable routes between Middlesbrough – Stockton High Street and Yarm High Street and a vintage country bus tour into North Yorkshire

All travel on the buses is free, a timetable and map are available on the day from the Control Bus at the Transporter terminal, we will have stalls selling transport memorabilia etc

A feature for the 2012 event will be two tours by vintage mini-bus of the various cross Tees Bridges with a guide to show you the latest exciting developments in the areas.

The event is designed to showcase vintage buses in operation and attracts enthusiasts from all parts of the UK, but will be especially interesting for Teesside people for whom buses were a main part of their daily lives in the past

Hi all, I am a graphic design student at Teesside Uni and I am doing a project on what it means to be a part of Teesside in an attempt to try and help create more of a sense of unity and identity.

If you would like to help me out and be a part of this project, please reply with a short phrase (15 words max) explaining why you are proud to be from this area, what you love about it, what you think it means to be a Teessider or what your hopes are for the future of our home. You can also include a picture of yourself and I might find a way to use it, but this is optional.

"Budding photographers are also being invited to mark the achievement [Middlesbrough parks attaining Green Flag Status] by capturing images that show what the town’s parks and green spaces mean to them.

Their efforts will be entered in a competition, with the lucky winner receiving Active Parks vouchers to the value of £50, giving them free admission to the Albert Park roller skating rink and swan boats on the lake, Newham Grange Farm, Middlesbrough Cycle Circuit and Prissick Plaza.

Entries for the photographic competition should be no larger than 1mb per image and can be sent to pr@middlesbrough.gov.uk The winner will be announced shortly after entries close at midday on Monday, April 30."

hi all, just noticed this, my photos tend not to be in the town itself but largely around Middlesbrough, people forget that we have all this glorious space. Wide-angle lens should be here today so hope to get to the temenos/transporter/riverside view for a nice panoramic soon
