I use MPEG Streamclip for video conversions on my mac. It works pretty good. I think there is a PC version of it too.

For the Olympus cameras the newer the better. If you want micro four thirds, the E-PL2 is the latest and greatest. Looks like the Video specs are the same on the E-PL2 as the new E-5.

Video specs:
Recording format: AVI Motion JPEG(30fps, Some Art Filters are exceptional)
Movie Mode HD: 1280(H)x720(V) Aspect 16:9
SD: 640(H)x480(V) Aspect 4:3(VGA)
Compression Ratio: 1/12(HD), 1/8(SD)
File Size: Max 2GB(limited by AVI format)
Maximum Recording Time: HD: 7min, SD: 14min (Some Art Filters are exceptional)

No topics? That' sad..

I was thinking about buying a 4/3rd camera that shoots video..Olympus or Panasonic. I have some questions hopefully some of you video experts can answer.

1. Which camera does 24FPS video with/without hack?
2. What's the continous length for which the video can be shoot?
3. The reliability of Continous focus and usability of manual focus. Comments on this?
4. 720/1080 HD what's the noticeable difference?
5. Sound recording quality and external mic. support. Which camera does it better?

Also there is anything that I should know please share. I plan to do some short films mostly collaborative projects from different media. Thanks for your inputs.
