Just noticing your question. I use both 35mm and medium format gear for startrails and other long exposure work. When the cameras start acting odd, stuck reflex mirror, shutter issues, and the like I send my gear in for a CLA. Clean, Lube, Adjust. Oils and mechanisms do not like the cold, but with good maintained gear I can operate below zero F with little trouble.

Hey,

Lots of questions here.. :) Please be gentle, I'm rather new at this!

So far I've only been using Acros and Provia 100F which were great!

How good is E100GX compared to E100G? I haven't tried any of them (yet).. a friend gave me some E100GX that I will try later this year.

Fuji 64T compared to Fuji T64 Type II, is there any difference?

Got a bunch of Velvia 50 laying around, will a magenta filter fix most of the green cast? FL-D or FL-W filter?!

That's about it! :)

From what I have read, no filters are to be used during night photography. Using a lens hood, blocking out your OVF and covering your camera while doing long exposures will reduce any light pollution, but no filters.

Nightfly Photography thanks for the heads up on E100G, I called our local Photo Shop and they have it at $8.90 a roll of 36. I can't believe what I have been missing, and drug out my Minolta XE-7.

Post Edit:

The one thing to check out, is how long developing is going to take. I just finished my first roll of slide film, and will have to wait 2 weeks for the turn around because there is no one in Montana that is developing slide film.

Again thanks
