The Wild Animal Park is definitely my favorite. But, despite its drawbacks, the Olympic Animal Farm was one of the best experiences I've ever had with animals in captivity. Close up and personal!

San Diego Zoo and wild animal park! I love going there. I may even try getting a job there someday, My goal is to work with animals and study animal behavior and they probably have many good programs there, and research facilities too. I have too look into it more. I also think that they do there best to make the many animals there feel as good as possible. which is nice to see instead of being in little cages.

Here are the other groups I'm in charge of, just in case anyone wants to join any of them:

African Wild Dogs! - For photos of African wild dogs (wild & zoos).

Everything Animal - For animals of all kinds!

FISH! - For photos of fish (aquariums, home, & wild).

Vegetarian Photographers - A group exclusively for vegetarians, because vegans already have tons of groups, just in case anyone here is a vegetarian :)

Vegetarians & Vegans Who Support Zoos - Well, the name basically explains itself =)

Zoos & Aquariums of the USA - A group for photos taken at animal-related places all over the United States

Oh, I didn't know that about the Arcata Marsh. I just read about it online and I thought it was like a mini-zoo thing, I'll take it off the list :)

Okay, thanks! Where is Palm Desert? Because I live in Northern California and when I'm in Southern CA, it's either San Diego or LA.

Other zoos:

- The Living Desert (Palm Desert). Very nice zoo that I would go to much more often if I lived closer.

- Applegate Park Zoo (Merced). Never been here, but I keep driving by it on my way to Yosemite and thinking I should go visit, sometime.

Does Arcata Marsh really belong on the list? It doesn't seem to fit the 'zoos and aquariums' theme, being just a habitat for wild animals and not having any captive animals there.

Hey everyone, I thought it would be fun to ask about everyone's favorite animal-related places!

There's a list on the California Zoos & Aquariums page if you can't remember :)

My favorite zoo is definitely the San Diego Zoo (and San Diego Wild Animal Park) because they have tons of amazing animals and they take excellent care of them, and I have also been going there since before I can remember. I also love San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Oakland.

My favorite aquarium is the National Aquarium in Baltimore. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is close behind because I've been going there for years and they have so many awesome sea animals. I also love the Aquarium of the Pacific because it is beautiful and has great exhibits.

My favorite "other" place is SeaWorld because I went to a career camp there three summers in a row and I was really impressed with their animals and animal care/research. I also love the California Academy of Sciences and the Coyote Point Museum.

What are your favorite animal places? Feel free to talk about any that aren't on the main list :)
