Legacy Glass

A general celebration of legacy lenses and what they're capable of.

Not restricted to any particular brand of lens, and any camera is welcome. Post anything you think highlights the validity of your older lenses, and show everyone that you don't have to pay through the nose to produce a nice image.

Pictures of your camera (DSLR/SLR) with your legacy glass fitted are more than welcome, so feel free to showcase your mutant combo here :)

I recently found an OM-2 and a few lenses in my folks' basement. I don't think the body is functional but the lenses are certainly fun on my Canon 60D.

advice on good c mount?

Kevin Carroll posted a new topic:

I'm on the lookout for a cheap c mount lens for my gh1 to be used for some video work and was wondering if anyone know of any c mounts that would have minimal vignetting? I would be interested in something around the 17mm to 35mm range preferably something at 25mm. Obviously the faster the better with some nice bokeh :-)

One of those fast zooms would be nice though I've heard that they're the worst for vignetting which is a shame because they could potentially cover most of the range I would use for filming.

The OM Zuiko 28mm f3.5 is going to be your best value. The 2.8 version will generally sell for around twice as much. The f2 version is expensive -- I don't know what your budget is, but that one would likely be a "bank breaker" somewhat.

I've got a 19mm Vivitar lens that's looking for a new home. Check your FlickrMail.

I was video shooting a wedding at the weekend on my gh1 and for the most part I used a 50mm fd 1.8 which was great for low light, but with the crop factor it was difficult to get a wider shot, so I was wondering if anyone would have advice for a legacy prime 24/28mm that wouldn't break the bank?
