Unofficial Cupcake Hero: November

Hi, everyone! I won October's Cupcake Hero and was so looking forward to hosting in November that I've decided to go ahead with an unofficial competition. That means that while you won't get the same great prizes as Cupcake Hero winners usually get the basic process and guidelines will be the same. I'm also providing a few prizes of my own just to give you a little added incentive.

In case you weren't aware, I Heart Cuppycakes asked me a week ago to hold off on posting November's Cupcake Hero because she's decided to reevaluate the challenge. This is both due to her own busy schedule and complaints she's received from some of the bakers about how it's organized. I suspect that most of us don't take this seriously enough to complain and are really in it for the opportunity to challenge ourselves and see everyone else's creativity. Prove me right by joining in this month for the unofficial challenge and post comments here letting the organizer know how much we support this great challenge. Since I've gotten several emails and comments from other competitors who seem as eager as I am to see it continue I know we can get a great turnout.

Hello Cupcakers!

I know I've been MIA these past few months but I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to Dorothy and Sharlene for continuing Cupcake Hero by hosting in June and July.

So far the evolution of Cupcake Hero has been a great success and I really believe that guest hosting has been a great way to visit new blogs and meet new cupcake addicts like myself. I promise to get back in the swing of things soon. Just have a lot on my plate right now.

I've recently updated the Cupcake Hero rules on the flickr group to reflect the new process. Please feel free to leave me suggestions or questions on the new rules. And if I've made some egregious spelling/grammar errors, let me down easy. I'm running on 4 hours of sleep... lol

Winning cupcake gets to host next month! Or just take a list of volunteers! (I'm sure a lot of people would love to host, including me!) Having it monthly gives people the option of skipping one because they're busy, knowing full well that they can just wait until next month Also, perhaps having it seasonally would draw a lot more entries, thus making it way more overwhelming :S

Whatever you choose, just make sure that it doesn't die out!

I like the guest host idea most, as I actually like the idea of CH every month - it's not too often for me - plus it means you can miss one now and then and not feel too bad!
The seasonal idea is my second favourite.
But I will be happy as long as we can keep Cupcake Hero going somehow - it's so much fun, and helps to spark all our creative juices

I'm a fan of options 3 and 4...seasonal cupcakes plus having guest hosts would make it easier and more accessible for everyone, plus getting extra site traffic would be a great extra incentive/prize for the winner!

[I would also feel less bad about missing quite so many contests and (theoretically) might actually be able to participate if there's a bit more time in between!]

I like the seasonal idea. It almost seems to be too much of a good thing with the monthly schedule. And a hassle.
