Hi Don,

I looked at the two links you posted, the pictures are nice! they are really good but dont forget, as you can tell a lot of post processing has gone into each picture which adds value to the Photo.

Hi C,
Ensure you have backup batteries, memory cards, a tripod a couple fo flashes and what ever else you can bring. Go and check out the venue before the wedding so you can plan for the day.
Talk soon.

Hello. My friend is getting married on June, and she doesn't want to spend a lot of money. She can't afford a professional photographer, so I'd like to take the photos (she can't forget that day, right?). But I have some problems: I'm an amateur photographer, and I have a semi-professional camera (Olympus SP800UZ). Could you give me some tips, please?

Thank you.

Welcome. Nikon CLS is great. I use two SB900s on stands trigerred by built-in flash (D90) at home and love it. At wedding I prefer bouncing the flash. Many people like the pocket wizard and with it you can buy different brand flash like the famous and cheap vivitar 285HV. Check out strobist.com. Another great source is www.planetneil.com/ and his flickr group: flash photography techniques.

you can use nikon speedlights like sb 600/800/900 for off camera flash..
u gotta set your camera or speedlight as master unit (nikon d40,d60,d3000 dont have this feature) and flash as remote (slaves). when you do this your (master) will trigger the other remote flashes. You can check Nikons Creative Lighting System videos on youtube for demonstrations.

Hi all!
New to the group...
Getting the ball rolling on the wedding side of my portrait photography business. ;)
I've seen so many breathtaking images using off-camera flash, with the flash behind the couple, etc...
How do I get started with this?
I am a Nikon girl...
Thanks!

Hi Don, I am not a post processing expert myself but I believe those pictures are post processed. You can play with the color. I use aperture and I usually play with the color monochrome and play with the intensity. I hope someone who is more expert can answer your question.
