IR Color (post 1-comment 1)

Infrared Group! For 520nm - 665nm : this group is for infrared images within this light range ONLY. No regular light or the deeper BW (720-830nm) images please. We want the great false color you can get in post processing.

The best known filter conversions are the Enhanced color of 665nm and the "Goldie" effects of 520nm.

These are the focus of this group. This is not the place for other infrared images like standard IR: Standard IR equivalent to Hoya R72 / Kodak Wratten 89b / 720nm, and/or Deep BW IR (equivalent to Kodak Wratten 87c / 830nm).

Discussions can include post processing workflow, IR equipment, and places that do conversions.

Each submission requires that you comment on at least one other image in the pool.

If you are shooting in this light range, Join the fun and Share the COLOR!

Of course, no nudity of any kind (family-friendly), no hate, no nonsense.

Did you know you can take photos in total darkness if you get your flash modified?

Also, if your camera has live-view & can shoot videos, you can see and shoot it in total darkness.

My Canon EOS-1D X was modified by ATG.
So the camera is now called ATG Canon EOS-1D X IR.

Hi Sharon,

You need to try 715nm or higher filter.

Those 520/540/590 are too low.

What camera are you planing to convert into IR camera?

Hi: I am a newbee to IR and just trying to learn something new. I had my "old" Canon Xti converted to IR. I am currently traveling in my motorhome across country (WA to FL) so will have plenty of good photo ops! My main camera is a 7D but I will carry the XTi with me most of the time. I'll post some photos later.

Sharon A* Canzi posted a new topic:

Hello everyone. I am fairly new to the group and to infrared photography. I don't get on line much but wondered if anyone has a 540nm filter or lower in their converted or dedicated SLR that would be able to direct me to some out of camera or processed photos. I am about to have my camera converted and am thinking of going with one of these more colourful filters but can't decide which way to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I like the 590nm look but have heard of the 540, 520 etc. thanks so much.
