Hello All,

Its that time of year again when all the butterflies start emerging from there winter hiding places. It would be interesting to see who's seen what and where around the country, so please post your sightings here! :)

Hello everyone...

its been a while since i been in sorry but moved house so been very busy...

Anyway now that the weather is warming up and the sun is shining again i thought it would be great to try and find out what butterlies you have spotted and seen around the country...

So Far i have seen the following...

Small tortoiseshell.
Large tortoiseshell.
Peacock.
Brimstone...
Orange-tip.

yap... the butterfly conservation( i am a member) trust holds a butterfly count each year as a way of checking the well being of our british butterflys here in the UK... i myself have taken part in the last 3 at whixhall moss. Prees Health and other locations here in shropshire...and agree its a brilliance way of getting kids involved in nature although it can be very tiring as sometime you have to cover a far amount of ground...
