70004 restarts 6F02 Ellesmere Port Manisty Wharf-Fiddlers Ferry away from a stop at Helsby. The train was stopped for a check, the driver had been down the train looking for something amiss. Dragging brake? Leaky hopper? Whichever? The problem seemed solved as the Betty got into it's stride though.

One thing I did notice whilst taking some close up shots was how quiet these locos are on tickover. You could barely hear anything. I guess that's down to stupid EU Euro Spec rules. Anyone who has ever stood next to an American Dash-8 or Dash-9, the loco on which a class 70 is based, will tell a very different tale...

BR Sulzer Type 2 no. D5133 departs from Dovey Junction on the Summer Saturdays Only 15.14 Pwlhelli to Birmingham New Street. The Type 2 needed all of its 1160hp to climb the 1 in 52 gradient to Talerddig with 10 on, but handled the job without any problems. Unlike D232, the forward loco from Salop, which failed at Oxley South. Luckily D1600 was available at Oxley (having arrived with the Newquay empties). This was quickly put on top and we were away with only 22 minutes delay.
The gent in the white shirt taking a photo is the late Bill Stanley, once a Tyseley fireman he then worked with me in Birmingham Snow Hill Control Office. We were both general purpose relief controllers at that time, but alas not for much longer as the office finally closed on 24th September 1967.

Tren especial Avignon - Toulouse - La Tour de Carol

Ahir vam poder gaudir d'aquest tren especial encapçalat amb la meravellosa CC6570, una locomotora que era el primer cop que circulava per la zona. Després de fer un seguiment al matí del Tren Groc, vam dinar i tot seguit vam marxar cap a Foix a fer el seguiment d'aquest tren tan i tan especial. Un dels punts on vam fer-li foto va ser aquest, una corba entre l'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre i Mérens-les-Vals, un punt on ens vam reunir més de 15 aficionats.
Va ser un gran dia sens dubte.
Des d'aquestes línies vull saludar als companys de viatge amb els quals vaig poder gaudir d'una excel·lent jornada i també saludar a tots els aficionats que ens vam anar trobant aixi com a tot el personal del tren que ens van regalar un munt de pitades i com no agrair la gran feina que fan des de APCC 6570 amb aquests viatges que organitzen!

Tren especial Avignon - Toulouse - La Tour de Carol
Ayer pudimos disfrutar de este tren especial encabezado con la maravillosa CC6570, una locomotora que era la primera vez que circulaba por la zona. Después de hacer un seguimiento por la mañana del Train Jaune, comimos y luego nos fuimos a Foix a hacer el seguimiento de este tren tan y tan especial. Uno de los puntos donde le hicimos foto fue éste, una curva entre Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre y Mérens-les-Vals, un punto donde nos reunimos más de 15 aficionados.
Fue un gran día sin duda.
Desde estas líneas quiero saludar a los compañeros de viaje con los que pude disfrutar de una excelente jornada y también saludar a todos los aficionados que nos fuimos encontrando así como todo el personal del tren que nos regalaron un montón de pitadas y como no agradecer el gran trabajo que hacen desde APCC 6570 con estos viajes que organizan!

Es va fer pregar la 335.021 amb el Teco de Logitren procedent de Bilbao, però al final va aparèixer.

Se hizo derrogar la 335.021 con el Teco de Logitren procedente de Bilbao, pero al final apareció.

I love this artist who has decorated this long wall. Such imaginative subjects, and so beautifully drawn and painted. I particularly love the top edge that complements the large expanse of yellow painted background.

Aprofitant que el Marenostrum venia amb la 252.070 ahir em vaig apropar una estona al pont de la Torrassa, punt que tinc a 10 minuts del pis i al qual feia temps que volia anar-hi. Estona abans del pas del tren objectiu, va entrar cap a Barcelona Sants aquesta parella de 448, el 020 i el 015, amb un regional cap a Estació de França.

Aprovechando que el Marenostrum venía con la 252.070 ayer me acerqué un rato al puente de la Torrassa, punto que tengo a 10 minutos del piso y al cual hacía tiempo que quería ir. Un rato antes del paso del tren objetivo, entró hacia Barcelona Sants esta pareja de 448, el 020 y el 015, con un regional hacia Estació de França.
