Kionsom Waterfall

Kionsom Fall,located at Inanam, is the nearest waterfall to Kota Kinabalu City, about 25 kms or a 30-40 minutes drive from the town. The waterfall is famous among the locals and can be crowded especially during weekends & holidays. When you come from Kota Kinabalu city, just follow the directions to Inanam. In Inanam you take right at the roundabout to Jalan Kionsom. At the end of this road, just after the Mari Mari cultural village, you will find the waterfall park.

Oman Island in the Sky

Drove for hours in Muscat, Oman, finally found a great place to settle down and take a few sunset shot, I love the island look and the sand around this one, this is truely beautiful. What you see on the right is a abandoned boat metal structure that seems to have been in the water for ages, i like how it sort of serves as a bridge between the shoreline and the island. I'm calling this Island in the Sky as the sky have zero clouds, it blends very well into the water with help of circular polorizer lens. The effect of smoky water is a result of 6 second long exposure and aqua green water was God's will =)

equipment used (besides the camera): 17-40 f4 lens, CPL filter, on a tripod

I normally process HDR out of 3-5 bracketed shots, but this one is pretty much straight out of the camera and some adjustments of color, clarity, contrast, GND filter added in light room given i don't have my home computer with all the bells and whistles with me on this trip.

Ok, so its a pretty pathetic waterfall right now, and I think I'm going to have to go back when we've had a heavier fall of rain, but I still liked how the river in Gosford forest park, Co. Armagh flows over the rocks and stones.

Think I'm getting the hang of these shutter speeds now, although I still have a long way to go, but I was happy with the outcome of this one, I hope you like it too :)

A black and white treatment of a shot from a few months back taken at London's Museum of Natural History. A cliche shot but one of which I love cause there is just so much detail in this building. A somewhat longer exposure to capture the movement of the crowds.
