ok so these guys are totally adorable, but what was more interesting was that their parents were a canada goose and a greylag goose (see below)

i haven’t seen this before, but i remember dan (dan belton) telling me about them only last week

the below shots show their happy little family heading off for a swim with both parents equally as vigilant and protective

and thanks also to mike (mikeebateman) for their names via twitter – ‘canlags’ or ‘granadas’ !

The point is, you have to get London's landmarks in the pictures. I know he is holding that polythene bag. Ever wondered what's in it? 5 packs of Maggi Noodles. Stocking up on stuff you rarely get to eat in Europe.

Activity: 1896-1947, his daughter run the studio to 1983.

His other studios, founded also in 1986: Marosludas and Marosújvár, Transylvania/Hungary back then, today Romania, known as Ocna Mureș and Luduș.

Fényképész: Horváth Bálint (1865-1947), Nagyenyed.
Alapítva: 1896.
Horváth Bálint a Dunky fivérek kolozsvári műtermében tanult,1889-1891 között ott is dolgozott.
Három feleségétől kilenc gyermeke született, közülük négyen folytatták a fényképészmesterséget.
Elsőszülött fia, Horváth Béla (1891- 1948) Nagyenyeden, apja műtermében tanult, majd 1921-ben átvette a marosújvári műtermet.1940-ben Kolozsvárra költözött és felhagyott a mesterséggel.
Horváth Andor 1918-ban Budapestre költözött, ott fényképészként dolgozott, de 1919-ben öngyilkos lett.
Ifj. Horváth Bálint (1895-1956) fényképész lett, 1925-ben Giurgiuba (Gyurgyevó) költözött, ott mint fényképész dolgozott, majd 1950-ben átvette apja marosújvári műtermét.
Horváth Ilona Nagyenyeden maradt, és az ottani műtermet vezette 1983-ig.

One of the robin parents deciding which of 4 hungry pre-fledgling siblings to give an earthworm morsel. A couple of observations: The hatch-lings develop really fast and the bird excrement dropped below the nest is abundant!

Robins typically fledge 13 days (range 9-16) after hatching. Hatch-lings in the above picture are at least 8 days old.

Witnessed two of the hatchlings leaving the nest on May 15th....4 days after the above pic. Initially the two just hopped on the ground, but at least one was in flight 5 minutes later. The parents noticed the fledgings and even seemed to be trying to feed one on the ground. One sibling was still behind in the nest, so the 4th must have fledged earlier.

The last sibling fledged an hour later.....It will be another 2 weeks until the juvenile birds can develop into strong flyers, so until then they will be in heightened danger from predators.
