These were taken from a boat trip from Portree. The action happens very quickly and only one fish is allowed to be thrown in the breeding season .The boats are not allowed closer than 200 metres from the nest site. Suddenly appears about 10 feet overhead. Has a 9 foot wingspan.

For a few years I have been keen to get a close-up of one of these beautiful Sea Eagles. Finally got lucky during a dawn photo session at Narrawallee on the NSW south coast. This bird flew past while I was checking the seascape and landed in a tree about 100m away. I hurried along the top of the cliff line to the spot and got within 10 or 20 metres to get these shots. I love how the dawn sun has highlighted its plumage and talons.
