Postcard Perfect for ODC

It was a hazy foggy day (whats new SF!) so I did a sepia conversion and liked the olden time feel. I thought it was cute enough to upload.

Every time we go (By we I mean my Danbos and I ) to shoot at GG we end up in tourists pictures too! All of us O_O I wonder will I see one of those pics on here one day...eek!

This is probably the most cliché picture of Delft: the Oostpoort (Eastern Gate), built around 1400. Postcards like this must be sent over the world a million times at least.

In Round 22 of 'Get Pushed' I have been paired with Pat's_Photos.

Her challenge to me was......."that you use the topic "holiday postcard". Interpret it how you want according to your travel plans. My suggestion is that you might take a photo that is a typical tourist shot, or a special reminder of your holiday. If you like postprocessing, you might want to create a shot from a number of images to look like a holiday postcard."

Well, I am not actually on holiday in the UK, but travelled over here to nurse my 92 year old mother for several months. At first I did not think, under these circumstances, that I could do this particular assignment. But then I remembered that Cleethorpes, a seaside location - but not a place I know very well, is just down the road from where my mother is.

Then my next problem was that my lens jammed last week and it cannot be repaired without going back to Nikon. This leaves me with only a macro over here. So I have bitten the bullet and bought a replacement 18-200 lens.

And finally the weather forcast was very ominous for the week of the challenge and, as I am only able to get away for short periods, I was sure that those times would not correspond with the moments of OK weather.

Pat was very flexible and patient with my issues. But I was determined to try and do the challenge as assigned. Fortunately my mother's health has held up and the Weather Gods must have been looking out for me, because yesterday was a glorious day and I was able to slip out for a bit to get these shots.

From top left, clockwise, the images are:-
1. The street sign at the south end of the promenade
2. Ross Castle
3. Looking south along the beach
4. One of the many rock shops
5. Some of the donkeys on the beach
