John Roebling Bridge

Long Exposure Shot of the Ohio River and Roebling bridge, better viewed large I think...

This photo was taken at f/14 with an exposure time of eight seconds @ ISO 320. I have a similar photograph of this bridge taken at f/2.8 and ISO800, the change between them is somewhat subtle but is very noticable.

The John A. Roebling Bridge, named after the bridges designer who later went on to build the Brooklyn Bridge. This bridge was built in 1867 and at the time was the longest suspension bridge in the world at 1,057 feet.

Woking's martian sculpture seen from the bottom of one of the legs. I've seen this view a fair few times before and thought this was the time to make my own version. The colours were very subdued; a result of all the snow-filled clouds hanging low overhead. I've gone for a very warm colour balance; I like the burnished metal look.

The sculpture celebrates Woking's link with HG Wells - he lived here briefly and destroyed the place in his book, The War Of The Worlds.

Some thick rubber mats caught fire in the building next door to my home, and in minutes the street was filled with a dark smoke. Before evacuating I took some shots of the action on the street. Helsinki. October 2007.

ok... So Elizabeth brought me back these duplo bars, from her Juniors Abroad trip to Europe. I'll have to say, I wasn't even halfway through the thing when I had to call her up and gush about how amazing it was, and yeah... yum!

I was wandering around Grange Park around two-thirty in the morning, trying to get a gauge of the interactive art exhibit taking place in the park. As it turned out, the impromptu dancing was much more interesting. This crowd was surrounding a man carrying a boom-box, blasting Michael Jackson's Greatest Hits. It was pretty cool. At the moment this shot was taken, everyone was flailing around to Thriller.

Nuit Blanche ( literally White Night or All Nighter in French) is an annual all-night cultural festival. The festival lasts from sundown until sunrise on the first Saturday and Sunday in October and has, since its premiere in Paris under mayor Bertrand Delanoë in 2002, spread to many other cities internationally, including Berlin, Brussels, Chicago, Madrid, Montreal, Rome, Tirana, Tel Aviv, São Paulo, Skopje, Toronto and Valletta amongst others.
