Grass flowers

Another thing I'm often drawn to is the delicate flowerheads of grasses. Walking to the marina along the river, I passed some semi-wild ground, some of which was meadow - mostly grasses, dandelions, some buttercups and nettles. I love the grasses' simplicity and delicacy, and that rich, fresh spring green.

25 degrees in Germany!! The main castle Augustusburg is the yellow one, and the haunting castle Falkenlust you find in the comment field. The castles were early (1984) listed as a UNESCO world heritage site as they "present the first important creations of the Rococo style in Germany".

Wikipedia: The Augustusburg and Falkenlust palaces is a historical building complex in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which have been listed as a UNESCO cultural World Heritage Site since 1984. They are connected by the spacious gardens and trees of the Schlosspark. Augustusburg Palace and its parks also serve as a venue for the Brühl Palace Concerts. The Max Ernst Museum is located nearby. The palaces were built at the beginning of the 18th century by the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne, Clemens August of Bavaria of the Wittelsbach family. The architects were Johann Conrad Schlaun and François de Cuvilliés. The main block Augustusburg Palace is a U-shaped building with three main storeys and two levels of attics. The magnificent staircase was designed by Johann Balthasar Neumann. The gardens were designed by Dominique Girard. An elaborate flower garden for an area south of the palaces was also designed, but it was restructured by Peter Joseph Lenné in the 19th century and turned into a landscape garden. Attempts to renovate the area have proven difficult, due to poor source material availability. Falkenlust was built from 1729 to 1740, in the style of the Amalienburg hunting lodge in the park of Nymphenburg Palace by François de Cuvilliés. From shortly after World War II until 1994, Augustusburg was used as a reception hall for guests of state by the German President, as it is not far from Bonn, which was the capital of Germany at that time.

Das Schloss Augustusburg befindet sich im Osten der Stadt, es ist mit dem Jagdschloss Falkenlust durch eine Allee durch den weitläufigen Schlosspark verbunden. Beide Schlösser gehören zu den bedeutendsten Bauwerken des Barocks und Rokokos in Deutschland. Seit 1984 sind sie mit dem Schlosspark UNESCO-Welterbestätten.

The Historic Gardens go through several phases, where essentially it looks like a totally different place every few weeks. This visit was the first time I had seen the tulips at their absolute peak and they were everywhere, with several beds of different colours bursting at the seams. I found it a little difficult to kind of convey the quantity with group shots, though. I thought perhaps this would be reasonably effective as a frame-filler.
