One of the most underrated waterfalls in Yosemite National Park. This is a series of waterfalls/cascades that drop over 5000 feet! This section under Big Oak Flat Road is a favorite of mine and many falls and shooting angles exist.

Relatively speaking, Cascade Falls isn't much to look at. There are plenty of well known falls in Yosemite that amaze visitors. Even the foot high Fern Falls is probably more photographed. A bridge separates the upper and lower portion of this fall. The obvious shot is upper so we climbed down a steep hill to play in the lower. As with most steep hills, the climbing down portion was the easy part.

I didn't make it to Yosemite in 2012 but thought I'd post another shot from 2011. Hopefully I'll be back to Yosemite in the next month or two for some snow shots.

Just a trickle during the dry Summer months, a full Cascade Creek has been enticing coho salmon to visit after recent heavy rains.
