Okay, he didn't really grab her butt, just feinted at it, but I was pretty sure he'd still pull back a stump if she turns around unexpectedly...

But actually the waitresses turned out to be really friendly and happily posed with us for a photo.

The blur isn't 'shopped. It was very cold outside and when we got in, the lens fogged over and it took quite a while to clear. I just wanted to pull out a cleaning-cloth when this scene happened, so there wasn't time for anything else but to snap a shot - thinking it'll be pretty much unusable anyway.

But when I viewed it on screen afterwards, I loved it - it really perfectly conjures up the atmosphere of the place.

Glowing Behind

I got to St Mary's Lighthouse incredibly later than i had wanted to. I only had 5 minutes to find a composition and take a shot before the sun was to rise. The sun rose directly behind the lighthouse and with the clear sky this just allowed a glowing orange radiation to fill the sky.

A shot like this really pushes the camera sensor and filters far beyond the DR available in a single image.

This image is a blend of two images using luminosity masks for the blending which give far better control in the masking process compared to hand paining the masks.

Additional luminosity masks were used for the processing of the image in various areas to help balance and give the look i wanted.

Taken with 24mm TS-E lens with 2mm of downwards Tilt and 6mm of Downward shift (to remove the distortion in the lighthouse).
