I will be uploading only occasionally and will check in weekly... Flickr has watered down the idea of individuality and personal vision... it has become a carnival of mediocrity and has the credibility of a bad reality show. Sure, there are bright spots, creative streams abound, but flickr lacks cohesion and the camaraderie found in the early days. It has become the Walmart of photography, perhaps a good bargain, but cheap, will always be cheap. I will continue to be the photographer I am... I just can't allow myself, nor my work, the compromise required to engage in competing to have my pictures seen... So all new pictures will not be forwarded to groups... If the work gets seen, good, if not then its not. I have met some great folks here and will continue to enjoy and comment on fine photo streams. Bless you all!

making pictures inside stores with the iPhone is like the guilty rush you got imagining shoplifting as a teen. You really don't want to be seen, nor caught. I find myself seeing all sorts of imagery in stores, the essences of what we buy and sell, the wild juxtapositions, the comedy, the insanity... it's all in there. I got popped by store security once, he escorted me to the door, a twinge of embarrassment... a much longer moment of thrill. Good excuse if asked... "I'm sending the picture to my wife for her approval/advice... it works.
