View from Camp - 20 Mile Bay

The road to this campsite is 55 km up a gravel road on the west side of Harrison Lake.....it's no picnic a two wheel drive can get there, I had my van not my 4Runner for this trip, but I did have 2 flat tires....so be prepared if you go....but the campsite is fab

Some of the wildest back country in North America can be found in the Tombstone Territorial Park located in the traditional territory of the Tr'ondek Hwech'in. You don't even have to hike in to see to it ( but hiking in is best), you can drive right by on the Dempster Highway. The Tombstone range has been referred to as the Patagonia of the Northern Hemisphere and is home to a range of flora and fauna that's found nowhere else in North America. In the fall the colors and the vista's not to mention the wildlife are just spectacular......make no mistake about it, this is the Yosemite of the El Norte and easily is the most under the radar park in all of North America....well my opinion anyway

Ok once you have had you'll fill of beer & pizza at the North Fork ( see photo's below ) you are now ready to follow Hwy 542 to the mountain top parking lot which is at the end of the road. Now you have the whole upper alpine as your mountain playground. This image was taken at sunrise of Mt Baker before heading out on the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail......the next photo's I will post will give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to ck it out for yourself some time.....like they say 'A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words' ...or something to that effect

Not only do they have the best pizza and beer you'll ever set your buds on....they have the most interesting collection of old beer bottles in all of North America....seriously they do. I highly recommend stopping at the North Fork before heading up to Mt Baker everything is made fresh on site including the beer !!!!!!! Now that's my kinda of place
