LOFAR HBA pano

One High-Band Antenna array of one of the core stations of the Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR) radio telescope. Each black tile contains 16 antenna elements, operating at 120-240 MHz. When it's completed and running, LOFAR will be the best low-frequency radio facility in teh world, and ideal for the kind of work I do, looking at radio galaxies in galaxy groups and clusters.

Taken around sunset, and stitched together in photoshop to try to show the whole ship from the front. Note her vertical prow, designed for ramming. You can see the numerous 6" and 3" (12-pounder) quick firing guns of the secondary and tertiary armament that characterise her as a pre-dreadnought, all sadly replicas, as are the main guns.

St. Martin's panorama

Panorama taken from English Island point on St. Martin's, in the Isles of Scilly. I was looking south and east, the Eastern Isles are on the left, St. Mary's just right of centre and Samson, the tip of Tresco and Higher town beach on the far right. Stitched together in Hugin, which has done a great job despite a couple of tricky bits on the far left.

Quincy Panorama

Looking south from Moswetuset hummock park down the Quincy shoreline. Attempt at a panorama, bit dodgy in places. Best viewed at Large, and not at Original, where the flaws are more visible :)
