We have been breeding a pair of drag racers here. Prozac05 and 09 have not been on ski before the year 2013. But yesterday already it happened several times that I could not catch up with them as they decided that curves and slaloms are a waste of time and went for the direct line instead.
God what a glorious time that was back then when you just did not fear for your life...

Taken for the Active Assignment Weekly! group. This week's assignment: The Colour of Beauty

I do admit that on first sight this picture does not contain much color. In real life the colored rainbow shirt of my son was much more dominant. But then I also did not want to crop these animals behind glass that stare at him. You will have to go large to get a flavor of the color in this pic.

What it took: A visit to the museum in the morning when apparently no one else was already up to go there... I only had my wideangle lens with me so I went for the bigger frame. No post-processing as such except for fine straightening and lens corrections.

As Prozac05 was sick this week-end I dared to visit the "Naturhistorisches Museum Basel" with the little one Prozac09 alone. I mainly went there for an exhibition of the "Wildlife photographers of the year". Absolutely breathtaking. However there were absolutly not photos allowed. But later on we went through the rest of the museum and I caught Prozac09 while having a sneak peek at human evolution.

Every once in a while I catch myself re-enacting a shot that I have already done in the past (wow, not that I compare them you would not believe that there are 5 years in between and a totally different camera equipment) and was quite happy with. However as time passes by I look at the same picture from a different angle and want to do it again but with a different twist. When I shot the local hydroelectric powerstation a few years ago I emphasized on the long exposure. This time it was once again a dizzy day and I realized that there is a lot of homogenous space (sky and water) that could use some pattern behind. I also favor the BW processing over the original colors, being more spooky.

Looking back it was a very wise decision to take my camera on a business trip. I assumed there would not be much time for sight-seeing (and I was right) but the one occassion I got it was marvellous to be able to shoot with more than the mobile phone.
Taken from the Seoul-Tower at 50 mm (only lens I had with me).
There are still some amazing details even though shot handheld at ISO 1600.
