Sunset (not HDR)

Dennis Wong posted a photo:

Magic at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Mai Khao Beach, Phuket, Thailand

It is not HDR. Here is how I take it:
Gear: Canon EOS 40D with Sigma 30mm f1.4, no CPL.
Details: Shoot at RAW, f/1.4 at 30mm, 1/25 sec, ISO800, auto white balance, spot metering the sky. Convert to jpg by DxO at -1EV.

It is pure luck. Our family is on vacation to Phuket and we reserved a table for dinner in a restaurant of this hotel. When we arrived, I was stunned by the scene. Knowing that it will disappear in seconds, I decided not to change lens and immediate took my camera out and lean on a pillar to take this photo. I wish I can take this photo by my ultrawide (Sigma 10-20mm) and tripod attached. It will be more dramatic and sharp.

The scene disappeared after three minutes.

You may think it is HDR because of the eaves was lighted. It is actually well lighted. You can refer to the right side of the photo here:
