The last photo from my short visit in Oporów :)

The castle in Oporów is a small late-Gothic defensive residence, built around 1440, is situated on an island surrounded by a moat. It is one of the very few monuments of this kind preserved in Poland. Its compact layout is concentrated around a quadrangular courtyard: a residential house, two towers (one with the chapel attached), and a defensive wall connecting them make up the premises. Renovated in the 17th, 18th, and 19th century, the castle underwent only some minor changes. They produced the Renaissance beam framed ceiling, the Baroque window openings on the first floor, the gate part, rebuilt in the 18th and 19th century, and the neoclassical stucco work. The so-called “cupboard" building on the courtyard, as well as the neogothic portal at the main entrance and the terrace by the bridge, date back to 1840. The castle is surrounded by a landscape park, founded in the first half of the 19th century.
Due to thorough reconstruction works between 1962 and 1965, some of the 19th century renovations were removed and the original shape of the roofs as well as the gallery of the residential house were restored. The Gothic portals and windows, together with the Renaissance polychrome beams from the mid-17th century, were revealed from behind the plaster.
Since 1949, the castle has been the seat of the museum with its exhibition of manor interiors. The works of art and craft contained therein refer to the traditions of old Polish manor houses. The collection includes exhibits from various epochs, ranging from the 16th century till the beginning of the 20th century - paintings, sculptures and artistic handcrafts.
The castle in Oporów. It's small, but I very like it :)

The castle is a small late-Gothic defensive residence, built around 1440, is situated on an island surrounded by a moat.
Zbiory prezentują dzieła malarstwa, rzeźby i wyroby rzemiosła artystycznego

The castle in Oporów. It's small, but I very like it :)

The castle is a small late-Gothic defensive residence, built around 1440, is situated on an island surrounded by a moat.

I thought, that this night colour of the building was quite interesting, so I took this photo :)

The Palace of Culture and Science (Polish: Pałac Kultury i Nauki, also abbreviated PKiN) in Warsaw is the tallest building in Poland and the world's 187th tallest building. It standing in the same center of Warsaw.
Construction started in 1952 and lasted until 1955. A gift from the Soviet Union to the people of Poland, the tower was constructed, using Soviet plans, almost entirely by 3500 workers from the Soviet Union, of whom 16 died in accidents during the construction. The architecture of the building is closely related to several similar skyscrapers built in the Soviet Union of the same era, most notably the Moscow State University.
As the city's most visible landmark, the building was controversial from its inception. Many Poles initially hated the building because they considered it to be a symbol of Soviet domination, and at least some of that negative feeling persists until today. However, over time, and especially in recent years, Warsaw has acquired a number of other skyscrapers of comparable height, so that the Palace now fits somewhat more harmoniously into the city skyline. Furthermore, since Soviet domination over Poland ended in 1989, the negative symbolism of the building has much diminished. Four 6.3-metre clock faces were added to the top of the building in 2000, making it briefly the tallest, and now the world's second-tallest, clock tower. The terrace on the 30th floor, at 114 metres, is a well-known tourist attraction with a panoramic view of the city.
The building currently serves as an exhibition centre and office complex. It is also used for FM and TV broadcasting. It is 230.68 metres (757 ft) tall which includes the height of the spire of 43 metres. There are 3288 rooms on 42 floors, with an overall area of 123,000 m², containing cinemas, theatres, museums, offices, bookshops, and a large conference hall for 3000 people.
