Excellent optics (Swarovski 10 x 32 ELs for those that are interested), an accurate rifle (Winchester Model 70 Classic in .300 Winchester Magnum), and shooting sticks are essential pieces of gear to the safari hunter. Each item got a real workout during the trip!

The mount just arrived! These animals are unique to North America, and incredibly beautiful. The mount hangs in Jan's office in the house where he watches over her as Jan does the thousand-and-one things to keep the house running.

Hunting pronghorn antelope is a game of sitting, glassing, and being patient. Figuring out how to get close enough to one of these animals for a shot poses a real challenge! Their vision is incredible, and they are the fastest animal on the North American continent.

Jan and her buck! Jan and our brother-in-law stalked this buck for more than an hour, and Jan took him cleanly with one shot from her .300 Winchester Short Magnum. He measures about 10 1/2" on each side, so he's not huge by any standards, but he is a true trophy.
