Rutger

Dankjewelske posted a photo:

Rutger hates being photographed, although he loves my enthousiasm about photography. So sometimes he gets trapped between the 2 and I grab my chance to take some shots.

I'm not a big fan of the shadows in his face. As soon as my Paypal is fully setup, I'm ordering myself a 5-1 reflector. Found a cheap on Ebay that should do just fine.

A brave man, he who walks this lane by himself.

---
This long lane leads up to a house that is said to be haunted. (It was even in a 6th sense tv show.)
I've visited the house and didn't see any ghosts (nor did I see any at any other point in my life), but haunted or not, the atmosphere here is great, especially at sunset, when there is a slight fog growing.

Explored #27 - Thanks!!!!!!!
My first non-selfie to hit explore. Another milestone :)

Six of these guys were running around, chasing each other the whole time. I had too much fun watching it to take a moment to take a picture of that though :)

--------------

Last week we went on a short holiday to France. We visited Paris, Disneyland and the Parc des Félins. It was a great week, but the last visit really was awesome. Armed with our binoculars and camera, we went on a scavenging tour. The felines have big territories, so you won't always be able to spot them, especially without the binoculars. But after 7 hours, we saw at least one of every species. Yay us!
There were big tigers and lions, but also tiny ones, funny ones and and and KITTENS! So cute. Ow and lots of silly lemurs, but you'll get to see those from me later.
It's nearly a 6-hour-drive, but I'm pretty sure this won't have been our last visit to the parc.

As a birthday present I promised a friend to shoot her, so she would have some decent shots of her new look.
The wonderful city of Utrecht offers plenty of diverse settings, all close to home, so we went to a building site (I visited before, see my Exploitation shot) and for a contrasting softer outcome we chose the city canals.

I really wanted to share some with you here on Flickr. Not all, because we ended up with 25 'ooh this one is good too!'-shots. I guess I have to learn to select a bit better, if I want to take this to the next level. Editing all 25 was quite a job.

Tips are very welcome!

They give dogs who are in a non-healthy environments new and stable homes.
I took a lot of pictures, and selected 75 I will post somewhere else :) But I did want to share some with you guys. Who knows, more could follow tomorrow.
Short summary of the day: lots Bassets and especially lots of drool and begging for food!

They are tearing down a building, quite close to my place, that was occupied by squatters for a while. Their work resulted in a pretty surreal site.
Because of the topic, I chose for hard lines in my final image. (And did my first experiments with hdr and hdr toning.)

Funny fact: while I was shooting, of course many people stared at me and then at the subject, but after that at least 4 people grabbed their phone and started taking pictures themselves. 1 guy who drove by in a car actually turned around and stopped.
I guess we don't get enough cool demolishing sites around here.

Maartje in a silly mood

A very dear friend of mine is starting her own company and she asked me to make some pictures to put on her website. It was my first time taking portraits of someone else, apart from the usual snapshot.
We found that one of the most beautiful spots was actually the 'doggy toilet area'. Good thing smell doesn't transfer!

I had an old lens from an old Canon with me and found out it's a pretty damn nice thing! I felt really pro as well, having an extra lens with me :P

This was obviously one of the fun shots, though she will really be my personal hero if she ends up putting this one somewhere on her website!
Will put a linky here as soon as her website is up and running.

Any feedback is welcome btw, if you feel it can be improved somewhere, lemme know!
