I shot this in a hurry, and I didn't love how any of them turned out, but I'm going to go with this one for now. I wanted to catch the sunshine being all goldeny, but couldn't get the lighting right. So. Oh, well. This one turned out in cool tones, which maybe fits the tone of the book better, anyway.
So, in honor of the book/movie, here it is.
BTW, I love both.
The bird is my mom's, and yes, she is "hatching" marbles.

"North & South" is my current obsession. I adore this story on so many levels!
The miniseries is fantastic, too.
I never thought I could love a novel hero more than Mr. Darcy, but Mr. Thornton totally & completely stole my heart!
Seriously. He can come for tea ANYTIME. And I'd totally shake his hand on his way out, too.

Teacup isn't mine, but is "Liberty Blue: Historic Colonial Scenes."

The book was a gift from one grandmother, years ago; the cup and hanky belonged to my other grandma. (The table, believe it or not, came with my apartment.)

This is another favorite book of mine, and was also another salvage by my bro, who remembered I liked it. Sometimes I forget how thoughtful he can be. The handkerchief belonged to a grandmother. I'm pretty sure the mug was a thrift store find.

The book belonged to one grandmother, the hanky to another. Teacup was salvaged from being tossed and given to me by my brother.
I didn't read P&P until college, and promptly fell in love with the story.
