The top of these limestone formations would form the shore of the river in normal flow. The holes in the bottom are formed from water erosion.

For historical purposes. This is the tracklog from my GPS for our hike, 7/7/07 - 07/08/07. Topographic exaggeration x2 used. Total distance hiked 7.25 miles. Elevation disparity ~700 feet.

The bottom 6 - 8 feet of this tree would normally be underwater. The upper limbs were still alive despite the dead appearance here.

That's a beer bottle someone threw from the bridge in Lost Creek, White County, TN. My accomplice tried to hit it with a rock and instead created a beautiful spider-web in the frozen Caney Fork River below.
