It's that time of the year when agricultural treats, whether for ornamental, cooking or dietary supplement use. California is one of the top pumpkin-producing states in the U.S. together with Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania.

Pumpkins are commonly carved into decorative lanterns called jack-o'-lanterns for the Halloween season in america. I still have to try and use my creative juices and create my first pumpkin carving. :)

Happy Halloween!!

Named after Lewis Bradbury, who commissioned this building, this architectural landmark is located in the historic core district of downtown Los Angeles.
In a few hours (exactly 2 a.m. Sunday morning) from now here in U.S., except Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and American Samoa, Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends when we “fall back” to standard time by turning our clocks back one hour.
The Crookedest Street In The World

San Francisco's Lombard Street is probably the world's crookedest street. The steep, hilly street was created with sharp curves to switchback down the one-way hill past beautiful Victorian mansions.

Tour buses cannot go into it for the obvious reasons that the road is narrow that only cars and SUV's are allowed so if you want to experience going through it, you must have a car or ride in one to be able to experience it. I actually hurt my back during my second trip, as we had to walk up to Lombard Street since our tour bus had to drop us off one street down. :-(

Taken inside one of Wolfgang Puck's restaurants in Los Angeles, while waiting for our food to be served. You could see the famous chef's images while in action posted on both walls of the interiors. Thought it was a perfect time to take some panorama shots as there was not much customers dining inside yet.

Went to Universal Studios Hollywood last weekend. We opted to go outside for some nice lunch, instead of having "junk food" choices inside the theme park. Well, it was worth it as the food was really good!

I've traveled the world twice over,
Met the famous, saints and sinners,
Poets and artists, kings and queens,
Old stars and hopeful beginners,
I've been where no-one's been before,
Learned secrets from writers and cooks
All with one library ticket
To the wonderful world of books.
~ Anonymous ~

I wonder how an armchair traveler feels like, traveling to places where I could just dream of to be. Hmm... something to make us busy this weekend. :D

Have a great weekend!

Where to this weekend?

I've traveled the world twice over,
Met the famous, saints and sinners,
Poets and artists, kings and queens,
Old stars and hopeful beginners,
I've been where no-one's been before,
Learned secrets from writers and cooks
All with one library ticket
To the wonderful world of books.
~ Anonymous ~

I wonder how an armchair traveler feels like, traveling to places where I could just dream of to be. Hmm... something to make us busy this weekend. :D

Have a great weekend!

This is how train stations in Frankfurt look on a typical Sunday. The city is busy as a bee on weekdays but a total ghost town on weekends.

Frankfurt is the central city of the so called Rhein-Main Region, and therefore the service caters the large number of commuters who travel to and from the suburbs each day.

The Historic Bradbury Building's Magnificent Interiors

The Bradbury Building is the oldest commercial building remaining in the central city and one of Los Angeles’ unique treasures. Capped by a magical five-story skylight, Bradbury's courtyard combines glazed brick, ornate Mexican tile floors, rich Belgian marble, Art Nouveau grillwork, handsome oak paneling, and lacelike wrought-iron railings -- it's one of the great interior spaces of the 19th century.

It is a wonderful building used in many movies and TV series, but the famous director Ridley Scott transformed it with light and filming technique into something quite amazing in the movie Blade Runner.

Three images stitched together, my first attempt to Vertorama.

Went out with the girls last weekend to Manhattan Beach after a big buffet lunch and watching a movie. For some reason, the sun went for a break and the sky was gloomy. Thought I post some shots of this beach from December of last year, which shows what summer sunshine really is.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Will surely enjoy mine!

As a kid I've always been fascinated with ginger bread houses, like that of the children's classic Hansel and Gretel, where you can actually eat whatever you can grab inside or outside the house. This picture was taken at The Grove mall a year ago and yes such sight just brought out the kid me, just as what Christmas is all about, too.
