There's something about seeing empty shoes in a setting like this that gives a certain sense of calm and comfort similar to being at home.

Never mind that these were at a shop at Haji Lane.

I notice a pattern with myself. I get bored of things so easily. Right now, I'm getting just a little bored of uploading my film rolls of inanimate objects. Although I kind of need to do it, more details later.

But hey, I do miss taking SPs occasionally. But we'll see...

We'll just have to see about that...

When I was loads younger (and I mean loads) I devoured loads and loads of manga.
These were the shelves I used to hang out at.
I think I used to buy five of those a week. (Books... not shelves)
Chinese translations (because I can't read Japanese). NEVER the English ones...
NEVER!!!!!
Now, I'm just so outdated with that. I don't know what's good to read.

Selamat Hari Raya.

We are in the midst of a long weekend. WHEE!!!

So I spent most of yesterday making cottage pie for a potluck. I thoroughly miss cooking although it gets really tiring. The pan I brought to the do got thoroughly whacked. I couldn't help but look on like a proud mama...

This was Syat on her vist to Singapore a couple months back. It's nice to know we're similar in the way that we're pretty easy to please. Just release us in a bookstore or a stationery store.

Late... I couldn't be bothered doing an upload last night, nor this morning...

I just spent the morning and early arvo with these two amazing people. I had more work to finish with Arnold, while I left Adelene to her own devices with my mom's sewing machine.

Funny story about Ade and the sewing... will save that story for another day...

Overheard at the lunch table...

Friend 1: Amelia, wil you please put your camera away and stop taking photos?

Friend 2: You can't tell her to stop taking photos!!! It's like telling her not to breathe!!!

I have to say that I'm blessed to have friends who understand me and accept me for who I am...

Although that doesn't stop me from taking their ugly mugs even if they start making faces at me (as evidenced by the last photo in the comments).

Adelene was responsible for the explosion of colour that Sunday. I should've known that she would incorporate balloons in the youth activity. Everything she touches somehow blossoms into balloons.

(Her pre-wedding shoot concept is going to be a no-brainer)

In case you're wondering, the balloons are basically a metaphorical representation for distractions (or burdens).

I'm sure you can figure some of the rest out.

I had been tagged by foldedmemos recently. And I was thinking today's a good day to reply. So... here you go... stuff you might (or might not) want to know about me.

1. First thing you need to know, if you want to be my friend, is that I'm certifiably insane.
2. Which leads to the fact that I'm booming and boisterous, I don't laugh, I guffaw, and I will certainly embarass you in public.
3. I talk to myself an awful lot.
4. I'm a pretty active citizen of Procrastination. Example of this is my website which I've been trying to do up for the last 3 years.
5. That being said, I am THE Last Minute Wonder. I may put things off, but at the eleventh hour, I can make magic happen.
6. In the past month of going full-on in the analog direction, I've come to realise I love it because film photography doesn't have as much pressure as digital photography does pertaining to the quest for perfection. It's refreshing to just leave the shots as is.
7. Believe it or not, I can see myself going to the more rural parts of China to teach little kids English one day, even if it's for a little while.
8. Singing gives me a great joy of which I cannot explain. Not that I'm fantastic in it.
9. I had a cat named Rexie when I was in Perth. When I had to leave, I left her in the care of someone temporarily, and she ran away. I still miss her so darn much.
10. Someone asked me 10 years ago if what I treasured most then would be what I treasure most now. It was the ability to love, and I still do.

red and white, moon and stars.

I couldn't find a patriotic photo enough for today so I got the next best thing. Something all in red, doesn't hurt that it's quite a reknowned landmark either.

It's National Day today. If you don't know what the top line is, well, it's about Singapore's flag, which was used as the theme for the series of mass displays at the parade.

I've to admit that there's something about watching the National Day Parade that is able to stir up patriotism in me, bearing in mind that I fit into the generation that has been found to be most apathetic towards matters regarding our country's politics. You'd think that we are brain-dead zombies, but no, most of the time we just don't care.

Actually, that's not true. I do care, but I just like making fun of local politics.

But, I have to begrudgingly admit that I am thankful for everything the government does here. We're 45 this year. And although the success story of how our little red dot grew from being a humble fishing island into the country it is today does tend to grow stale, tonight I'm proud to be Singaporean.
