The old Van Alstyne highschool, 1912-2000. My great-grandmother, grandmother, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends attended this school. Sadly, I did not attend.

View of the front of the school. You can see the flag pole, and the speaker pole (whatever you call it).
There is police tape because the roof fell in a few months ago, and the school is in the process of remodeling. The city can't tear this school down because it is a historic marker.

The old Van Alstyne highschool. I believe this school was built around 1912, and was shut down in 2000. At one time this was a two story building. I had four generations of my family attend this school.

This is the dedication plaque on the old Van Alstyne highschool. The year says 1946 and it has all the board members names on it. This plaque is on the old cafeteria building. The cafeteria is seperate from the highschool.

A view inside of the old Van Alstyne high school. This school was shut down in 2000 when a new school was completed. I believe this school was built around 1912. If you look closely you can see light shining inside the building, that is because the roof fell in during the floods.
The town is in the process of remodeling. This building cannot be torn down because it is a historic marker.

A view of only the windows of the old Van Alstyne high school cafeteria. My grandma, my sister, brother and a variety of cousins, uncles and aunts ate at this school cafeteria from the years 1939-2000.
