July 2012 on a Road Scholar Costa Rica intergenerational tour with granddaughter Alicia for her 16th birthday. We learned a great deal about the flora and fauna. She hadn't done much still photography, and after the first day with her DSLR she took some beautiful images. Typically I use auto white balance, but for this type of scene I remembered Jerry Goffe's advice to switch to cloudy or shade to emphasize the warm tones.

Three moments in one: The guitarist and his music, the actress enchanted by his music, and the young man enchanted with her. No time to focus, zoom or set depth of field - shoot it or lose it. After a documentary taping crew finished in the Paseo del Prado, the actress went to hear the musician, who had been silent during the taping. With her is one of the technicians, who may be more interested in her than the guitarist. The Paseo del Prado is a beautiful tree-lined polished marble walkway running from the Parque Central to the Malecón.

Revised as suggested by ELCC judge on 9/15/11, and comparing the two versions, I believe she had a very good point. Shallow depth of field, so I used Filter/Artistic/Dry Brush filter to sharpen all edges.
