Took the folks out for dinner tonight, but first dropped by Santa Monica for a nice sunset and caught these lovebirds.

The city of Angels was blessed with a gorgeous sunset on this lazy Labor [free] Day!

I grabbed this shot east of the LA River, on the 101 South just before the Fourth Street exit -- there's an emergency ditch that has this perfect "grassy" area overlooking Downtown!

Kamran swam up to us and tried to tip our kayak over. It took a couple smacks to the head from our paddles until he quit and held on for a ride.

We were up in the Bay Area to welcome the new year with fireworks from Treasure Island. The show wasn't as spectacular as I was hoping, but the sunset (7 hours before!) was beyond amazing!

The satisfaction that comes after wanting something badly and then working super hard to get that thing is a feeling unlike any other.

I am humbled and grateful that I am the extremely gracious owner of a 2013 Audi S5 :D

It's a GIANT step up from a '99 Civic hatch (a step filled with admitted tears when I said my good byes to her) and thus I already appreciate the S5 so much more than a normal person would.

Not only is it easy on the eyes, it's a Beast under the hood. Hence the name I've given it, The Beast. Legendary.

Nawaz watching the reply at the Saints/Raiders game last week in Oakland, Calif.

Big game today down in Who Dat Nation. The Niners are in town for a rematch of the game that pushed the Saints out of the race last season. With a Saints win (and a Viking/Buc/Seahawk loss -- all of which are totally possible since they're playing the Bears/Falcons and Dolphins on the road, respectively!), Saints will grab the No. 6 seed in the NFC. Amazing after their underwhelming 0-4 start.
