Happy belated Thanksgiving wishes to all Canadian flickr’ites, hope you had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. lots a’ turkey and stuff, eh! yea, me too.

a little something I brought home from the Farmer’s Market at City Centre, a great place to get fresh supplies for Thanksgiving Dinner, everything from vegetables to fruit to flowers. meat, poultry, fish, you name it, they’ve got it, all locally grown and produced. it doesn’t get much better than that.

while searching for sweet potatoes, this little gem caught my eye. just love those autumn colours, those special tones that only happen at this time of the year, of course I had to take it with me and when it was decorated with a red ribbon and candles, it became a perfect centrepiece for the dinner table.

thanks for stoppin’ by. have a happy day!

good to be back, missed y’a. a little something to share from my travels.

every picture tells a story and this is no exception. such an enterprising young man, and not a bad player to boot. he set-up in front of his house to perform for the crowd passing by his doorstep. his offer, "I'll play any tune in the book for a buck". what a deal, something I simply could not refuse.

I opened the catalogue of hits and picked "Michelle", my favourite song by the Beatles. he played and sang it to perfection and when he was finished, it was this lady's turn to make her selection. as you can see by his reaction, her pick was not one of his favourites. regardless, being the entertainer he is and despite his struggles, he played it and played it well. very well in fact. the true sign of a pro to be.

bravo young man. well done.

don't you just love it when a snap like this comes along. love the expressions on both. simply priceless!

a special note to all who have invited me to join and participate in their groups, thank you, I'm thrilled to be a member. I'm doing my best to catch up and post, I also know that there are some to which I have not yet replied. my apology. I promise to do so within the near future. but keep those cards and letters comin' folks. always appreciated and welcomed.

Humber Crossing

'pixler' posted a photo:

Humber Bay has certainly become one of my favourite places to visit, truly a Jewel on Lake Ontario. Aside from its many natural wonders, Humber Bay has some of the most spectacular architecture and parklands to be found anywhere in the GTA.

This is The Humber Crossing, what a magnificent structure, perfect from every angle, it certainly caught my attention the first time I saw it. What an awesome sight to behold and only steps from mother nature‘s back yard.

At this point, I have explored most of the Adventure Path, The Parklands as well as marked and unmarked trails along both sides of the river. I have come across wildlife and nature that I never knew existed in the midst of our city. It’s been a wonderful experience, one that I’m glad to have captured along the way.

I only have a couple more short sections to explore before completing my journey from Lawrence Avenue in the north to Lake Ontario in the south, sections which I’m planning to finish by the end of this summer. But then again, autumn and all its glory is not too far away and I might just return then to get some snaps of the valley when it’s ablaze with colour.

Now that sounds like a good plan. What do you think.

Jewel of the Humber

'pixler' posted a photo:

It was a spectacular summer day and the first time that I had been to Humber Bay for a long time, it had been a number of years in-fact. Many of you have posted pix from your outings to the Bay and I thought it was about time for me to see what I’ve been missing.

Thanks for the great tip.

I’m absolutely amazed how this area has changed. It has become a Jewel on Lake Ontario. Magnificent Architecture, Stunning Parklands, Awesome Views. But most of all, Humber Bay with its many walkways and nature trails offers a wonderland that must be experienced.

For anyone who loves the outdoors, anyone who loves to walk, hike or bike, it’s fantastic. The Adventure Trail starts at the south end by Lakeshore Blvd., not far from the Humber Bay Bridge and continues north to Lawrence Avenue. It’s a great walk and if you want to get off the beaten track, there are plenty of opportunities to explore unmarked territory and experience nature at its finest.

I simply love the outdoors and have made it a project for this summer to complete the walk from top to bottom. So far, I’ve been to The Parklands, The Nature Garden, stopped off at The Humber Bay Bridge and hiked along the west side of the Humber River north to Bloor.

There is a photo op at every turn, so if you ever get to visit, make sure you bring your camera. You won’t want to miss this.

greetings flickr’ites, a little something to share with you from last weekend.

on a spectacular Saturday evening and after a scrumptious dinner on the outdoor Patio of the Grenadier Restaurant, we decided to take a walk to High Park Zoo and see what the animals were up to.

it’s a great little zoo, you can get up-close and personal with the creatures and even though most had already returned to their housing for the evening by the time we arrived, this one was still rarin’ to go, prancing ‘round the yard, showing off.

as you can tell, a real ham that absolutely loves the camera, loves to pose and entertain the crowd. this almost prehistoric looking creature was the hit of the show. it certainly caught my attention and definitely made our trip worth-while.

if you’ve never been, you’ve just got’a come and visit. High Park is a nature sanctuary in the midst of our great city. a paradise in a jungle of concrete and steel. more than 400 acres, 161 hectares in all, with many untouched nature trails and wild-life habitat including rivers, lakes and ponds. attracting more than a million visitors each year, Toronto’s High Park has become a favourite tourist destination for nature lovers from around the world.

just another reason why I call Toronto my home.

www.toronto.ca/parks/featured-parks/high-park/

greetings flickr’ites, a little something to share with you from last weekend.

on a spectacular Saturday evening and after a scrumptious dinner on the outdoor Patio of the Grenadier Restaurant, we decided to take a walk to High Park Zoo and see what the animals were up to.

it’s a great little zoo, you can get up-close and personal with the creatures and even though most had already returned to their housing for the evening by the time we arrived, this one was still rarin’ to go, prancing ‘round the yard, showing off.

as you can tell, a real ham that absolutely loves the camera, loves to pose and entertain the crowd. this almost prehistoric looking creature was the hit of the show. it certainly caught my attention and definitely made our trip worth-while.

if you’ve never been, you’ve just got’a come and visit. High Park is a nature sanctuary in the midst of our great city. a paradise in a jungle of concrete and steel. more than 400 acres, 161 hectares in all, with many untouched nature trails and wild-life habitat including rivers, lakes and ponds. attracting more than a million visitors each year, Toronto’s High Park has become a favourite tourist destination for nature lovers from around the world.

just another reason why I call Toronto my home.

good to be back, brought you some flowers today to thank you for your visit, it's wonderful to find your notes and comments when I get back to flickr'land. greatly appreciated. always welcomed. promise to catch up over the next few days.

don't know what these are or what they're called but they sure caught my attention sitting on the counter of a little in-convenience store in the Beaches on Saturday. it's really amazing what you can discover in the Shops on Queen. I could not have imagined finding flowers in a place like that. they sell everything, it's like a mini-flea market. you name it, they've got it, or they can get it for you, at the right price, of course.

no matter, I got 'em and they look great on the kitchen table.
