After an amazing 41 years and over 5.3 million cars, the Rover Mini finally ended production on the 4th of October 2000. The story does not end here however - A new "MINI" arrived to much fanfare and a new generation of fans - and the "Classic" Mini retains a HUGE following from its fans around the world. Long live the Mini! Mini World and Mini Resources are two links I can suggest to you guys to start your reading.

Art has now become mass produced, so the value of 'unique' has vanished. Most people have a sunset photo or two, maybe they have what they consider "the sunset photo". It will be a good photo perfect in every detail.

Fifty years ago, it could have been of some value, since there were not many sunset photos in your vicinity. Now, the guy next door can produce similar images, within a few minutes, even if there is no sun.

Women 100 meters Back Stroke. SUKMA is a multi-sports competition or ‘Mini Olympics’ that involves young and budding athletes. It is held every 2 years, and this year its held in Terengganu.

They all are young and incredibly fit with beautifully sculpted muscles; some would hang out on the holiday islands like the Redang and the Perhentian during their off fishing seasons in the evening and seduce women without even trying.

None of them got rich, and none of them got more than regionally famous. But they all transformed their lives in pretty radical ways when you consider that they had all grown up to be fishermen like their fathers. The most striking thing about them may be just how westernized they are, not all of them, some of them though.

For example, rats naturally prefer dark spaces. If shock is delivered while a rat is in a dark place, it can be made to fear the dark and "choose" to avoid dark places in future.

I often think a lot about contradictory theories like this one. In photography darkness is always portrayed as unpleasant. But lets not forget darkness can also be asociated with relaxing ambiance, old, antique, dreamy and many more comforting ambiance. Photographers should be able to project such "feelings" through their work. Well those are just some of my thoughts on how behavioral science can play a big part in photography.

The B&W dilemma:
In B&W it looks like it could have been captured just about any time, which doesn't make it less compelling visually but to me it feels like it has less of a story to tell. Try thinking this for a comparison: In B&W you'd be saying "here's a beautiful scene in Kuala Terengganu with great silhouette, clouds and reflections" whereas in color you'd be saying "on this day I was rewarded with the rare chance to see this beautiful golden sunrise in Kuala Terengganu, illuminated and glowing for but a few moments, the memory of which I will carry with me for the rest of my days".

Pet macaws thrive on frequent interaction and attention from their owners, and a lack of this can lead to their mental and physical suffering. Other sub-bondings also take place and most macaws that are subjected to non-aggressive behavior will trust most humans, and can be handled even by strangers if someone familiar is also alongside.

It should be noted that photography is essentially harmless and aesthetics are not intrinsically a moral issue, and therefore people should do any bonehead thing they please as long as they’re not hurting anyone. Well worth remembering the next time somebody tries to tell you that your fascination with {insert unfashionable photographic technique here} indicates your lower moral status and general unfitness to be seen in company.

Due to security concerns after the 9/11 tragedy, you cannot legally take any photos taken on or near a bridge in NYC without permission. It is a pity that some people have become so paranoid that we are willing to allow our most basic civil liberties to be trampled upon. Do the powers that be honestly beleive that by stopping people from taking pictures is going to make us safer? An inability to take photos "of bridges" is only a measurement of how completely insane we have ourselves become. Attempting to legally regulate the rays of light bouncing off of things serves NO CAUSE except to demonstrate our deep state of national psychosis.

The Terengganu state government is going to turn Kuala Terengganu into a waterfront city soon. The master plan for the Shah Bandar area is being finalised and is likely to be shown to the public later this month. "The state government will then call all stakeholders to respond," a conservationist, who declined to be named, said.

Under the plan, Masjid Putih (Zainal Abidin) will be rehabilitated and more public places and boardwalks culminating in Kampung Cina and Pasar Payang will be created, she said. While new public plazas will take on Islamic designs, the Chinese theme in Kampung Cina will be preserved, she said.

"There are proposals to build shop houses on stilts or on some reclaimed land in Kampung Cina. These shop houses will be fronting the sea and will be similar in design to the old shop houses that have the back facing the sea," said the source, adding that houses with illegal extensions will have to be demolished.

Points to ponder:
The "guitar:guitarist, hence, camera:photographer" metaphor is a bit off IMO. Being a photographer is more like being a composer. You create new works, rather than simply playing/interpreting works written by others.

Jumping into the new dimension

This is a society that is intellectually blind; that follows wherever its instinctive emotion leads, applying its lesser conscious intelligence to blazing a reckless technological trail which cannot be justified, condoned, or even explained by free and independent intellect. Consequently, society has developed a confusing range of self-destructive human behaviour. Its attempted control of the situation, government and politics, is in a perpetual state of disagreement.

Note: The nibung palm tree is a spiky exotic jungle palm often used as piles for jetties and bridges as they are very hard and do not rot in the water. (Scientific name: oncosperma filamentosum or palmae arecaceae)

P/S: It looks as though the boys are jumping into another dimension in which the human race is more loving to the nature around it.

How I feel about my works: I am much less concerned with whether the viewer "likes" what he or she "sees" - or identifies, objectively - in a photograph; and much more interested in conveying a feeling, a mood, a state-of-mind and/or heart, that persists even as viewer steps away from the image.

My "goal" as a photographer is no longer to "show someone what I'm looking at, in fact, you might refer to it as to communicate - express - a bit of "what I felt" when taking a picture to someone viewing the resulting photograph.

Cultural and building conservation is also a good way to bring in the tourist dollar. The very beautiful and very traditional Aryani Resort is a good example. According to Raja Bahrin, the resort is full almost all year round, some tourists book one year in advance and 85 to 90% are visitors from UK, Germany and Scandinavia. What are they looking for? "These tourists are easy," Raja Bahrin says. "Give them privacy and good food and they're happy." The guests sleep at about 9pm. All the resort does is organise cultural performances from time to time, and have some soothing gamelan music at night.
