This may be a common mushroom that the cool wet weather got the best of. It sure was striking to my eye.
After a few days now with the new Flickr I think I have found a way to see my contacts shots that pleases me.
Rather than clicking on the photo I click on their name and open there site. I then can see all their shots in the order by date they were posted. I go to the first new one (which really means oldest new one they posted) and then use the thumb nails to the right to work my way up to the last one posted. Did that make any sense??
I have noted that many of my contacts have cut back to only posting 1 or 2 a day since the change. I do understand. I note on mine that the last one posted get double to triple views of the remainder of a group I post. Guess the lesson here is to post what you think is the best last. :)

Taken in Palmer Alaska. Have never encountered these before. Not much good with mushroom ID anyway.

Parka Squirrel-Ground Squirrel

RA and I did a bit of Visitor Center flowers today and then to Friday Market in Palmer and then out to lunch. We weren't ready to come home after lunch so we cruised up into Hatcher Pass. It looked good from the bottom but once we picked up a couple thousand feet the clouds thickened and the wind was blowing hard. RA hadent been to the top this year so up we went. Got up to Summit Lake and kicked toots out for a run and both of us put jackets on. It had to be in the low 40s. The toots headed to the lake took a couple swims and covered a bunch of country sniffing out every squirrel den as she went. So not a lot of photography was done. On the way down I did a little drive by shooting of the squirrels. We stopped at Hatcher Gateway on the way home and shot a bit of fast water.
Fun day with my bride and pup.
