Moribund. Guillemots don't stand around like this away from their breeding grounds unless they're about to die and sure enough this one (presumably) was found dead the following day.

An extremely rare vagrant to Britain from western North America - this one is the first for Norfolk.

In the best year ever for Semipalmated Sandpipers in the UK we thought we'd get one of them (I still haven't seen one in Norfolk) but instead we got this! Mind you it did masquerade as a Semi-p for a couple of days before its true identity was realised.

A very rare visitor to the UK which I'd only seen once before. The majority of records are autumn migrants, which typically are seen only in flight when they're flushed. This one was the first Great Snipe to be recorded displaying anywhere in the UK, ever. That's something people normally go to Poland to see!
