Rosh HaNikra (Arabic: رأس الناقورة‎ Hebrew: ראש הנקרה‎, "head of the grottos") is a geologic formation in Israel, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Western Galilee. It is a white chalk cliff face which opens up into spectacular grottos.

The tapeti (Sylvilagus brasiliensis), also known as the Brazilian rabbit or forest rabbit, is a cottontail rabbit species found in Central and South America.
It is a solitary, nocturnal animal, usually seen after nightfall or before dawn, feeding on grass and browse. It is found in forested habitats, close to swamps and along river edges, and in disturbed areas, such as gardens and plantations.

The Potoo is a nocturnal bird which breeds in tropical Central and South America from Nicaragua to northern Argentina and northern Uruguay.

This potoo is a large cypselomorph bird related to the nightjars and frogmouths, but like other potoos it lacks the bristles around the mouth found in the true nightjars. It is 33–38 cm long and pale greyish to brown, finely patterned with black and buff, camouflaged to look like a log; this is a safety measure to help protect it from predators, but its mode of perch is also a camouflage. It has large orange eyes.

This nocturnal insectivore hunts from a perch like a shrike or flycatcher. During the day it perches upright on a tree stump, and is completely invisible, looking like part of the stump because it stays so completely still as it perches.

At the Rio+20 Conference, world leaders, along with thousands of participants from governments, the private sector, NGOs and other groups, will come together to shape how we can reduce poverty, advance social equity and ensure environmental protection on an ever more crowded planet to get to the future we want.
The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) is being organized in pursuance of General Assembly Resolution 64/236 (A/RES/64/236), and will take place in Brazil on 20-22 June 2012 to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), in Rio de Janeiro, and the 10th anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg.
The Rio+20 Conference It is envisaged as a Conference at the highest possible level, including Heads of State and Government or other representatives. The Conference will result in a focused political document.

the American Forestry Association promoted the planting of memorial trees after World War I, to honor war heroes and veterans, and the trees in Central Park were planted in the spring of 1921 with President Harding in attendance.

The Cathedral of the Protection of Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat or Pokrovsky Cathedral - both are official names used by the Russian Orthodox Church - also known as the Cathedral of St. Vasily the Blessed is a Russian Orthodox church erected on Red Square in Moscow in 1555–61 on orders from Ivan the Terrible. It commemorates the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan.

Misbaha is a string of prayer beads which is traditionally used by Muslims to keep track of counting in tasbih.

A masbaha is a tool used to perform dhikr, including the 99 Names of Allah, and the glorification of God after regular prayer.

It is often made of wooden beads, but also of olive seeds, ivory, amber, pearls or plastic.

Windsurfing and Kitesurfing in Israel:

Israel has become a country of surfers since the first surfboard was brought to Israel by a Californian doctor in the 1950′s. Whilst surfing in Israel is a popular sport, windsurfing and kitesurfing in Israel are also incredibly popular, with Israel having won Olympic medals for windsurfing. Windsurfing and kitesurfing take place along Israel’s Mediterranean coastline where a number of prestigious centers operate, as well as at the Sea of Galilee and in Eilat.

As soon as the waves get good, beaches in Israel become dotted with surfers of all abilities, a far cry from when that Californian doctor gave his first surfboard to a Tel Aviv lifeguard fifty years ago. Today, there are tens of surf schools, all along the Mediterranean coastline, as well as at the Sea of Galilee and in Eilat, some of which specialize in windsurfing and kitesurfing.

The Dead Sea, also called the Salt Sea, is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west. Its surface and shores are 423 metres (1,388 ft) below sea level,[2] Earth's lowest elevation on land. The Dead Sea is 377 m (1,237 ft) deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. With 33.7% salinity, it is also one of the world's saltiest bodies of water, though Lake Assal (Djibouti), Garabogazköl and some hypersaline lakes of the McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica (such as Don Juan Pond) have reported higher salinities. It is 8.6 times saltier than the ocean. This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which animals cannot flourish, hence its name. The Dead Sea is 67 kilometres (42 mi) long and 18 kilometres (11 mi) wide at its widest point. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River.

Humanidade 2012 is an initiative of FIESP, the FIRJAN System, the Roberto Marinho Foundation, SESI-Rio, SESI-SP, Senai-Rio and Senai-SP, with sponsorship by the City of Rio de Janeiro and Sebrae, designed to highlight the important role that Brazil currently plays as a global leader in the debate on sustainable development.

In an innovative venue, welcome to all, members of society are invited to reflect upon and deepen their understanding of a possible development model that takes into consideration past, present and future impacts, to ensure better living conditions around the planet along with economic growth, social inclusion and respect for the environment. Humanidade 2012 is also a democratic forum which will offer, in addition to meetings, seminars and workshops, a large exhibition, open to the public, in order to demonstrate, in an entertaining, interactive and participatory manner, how these concepts have been translated into important initiatives and actions in our country.

The structure, erected at Fort Copacabana, a tourist attraction in Rio de Janeiro, will also serve as a meeting place and for sightseeing and socializing during Rio+20, and is a contribution of the organizers to the event being sponsored by the UN.

Different exhibition rooms within the locale will invite visitors to stroll through the history of man and nature. Lectures, seminars and debates will bring to Copacabana the discussions slotted for Rio+20, apart from offering visitors a tour through the history of mankind. The goal is to encourage reflection on the contemporary world through various lectures, including “Dialogues on Climate Change”, “Water Governance”, “Florestabilidade” (on forest management), “Social Entrepreneurship Forum”, “Gender Equality” and “Sustainable Production and Consumption”, among others.

This relatively small ibex is most easily recognised by the impressive, backward-arching horns of the male, which are long, slender and ridged on their outer curve, casting a magnificent silhouette against the rocky, mountainous terrain of its surroundings. Whilst found in both sexes, these horns are much larger in males than females, growing up to 120 cm on bucks, and only 35 cm on females. The coat is a light sandy brown colour, with a white underbelly, while the legs bear conspicuous black-and-white markings. Bucks have a dark stripe down the back and older males have a long, dark beard . During the October rut, the neck, chest, sides, shoulders and upper legs of the bucks become dark brown to almost black in colour. The differentiation between species and subspecies status in ibexes is very controversial and remains somewhat debated, with all species previously classified under Capra ibex

Unlike the main camp at Auschwitz, Birkenau is not a museum, research archive, or publishing house. It is preserved more or less in the state it was found at liberation in January 1945. However, only a few of the wooden barracks remain and are now being restored. The brick barracks and other structures in the women's camp still stand. All four Birkenau krematoria were dynamited by the retreating SS, however their ruins can still be seen.
