During the 2nd period, we nudged our way down near the glass (it was a packed house!). This was one of the better shots I got while shooting through the plexiglass. I loved how I got the (lame) Big 10 conference logo on the puck too.

The latest A to Z project result was awesome... and so easy to produce! The project was about building pictures up in post-processing, using bits and pieces to get the image you want.

For this one, I took the color version of my favorite b&w of the Park Ave rocks at Arches National Park and simply doubled it. I made a copy of the original (right side), flipped it around, matched it up and voila! As one friend put it, I got a landscape Rorshach!

I was doing some desktop clean-up today and realized that I never uploaded a couple of shots that I used for a local art show late last summer.

This shot was the first of 2 I entered. It's the historic Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, PA. Fans of the cult classic "The Blob" will recognize this theater as the one that the moviegoers run out of at the start of the flick. (And that's why they have a little festival called Blobfest each July!!)

We were at lunch yesterday when my phone started going nuts with alerts of the horrific news in Newtown CT. Friday evening, one candle started this memorial at PSU near the steps of Old Main with a note for the victims and asking any that pass, if the flame went out, to please re-light it.

By the time we walked by late Saturday afternoon, the memorial grew a little bit, and a big vigil is planned at Old Main on Sunday night to remember the victims.

It's a PSU hockey weekend and my husband had a great idea for our ride up... a mini-"pub crawl" through Central PA along the way!

We had never been to Selinsgrove Brewing, but had heard many good things about it. That was our first stop for lunch and it was worth it. I snagged this shot, with the intention of taking a shot at Elk Creek later on, but I forgot to take my shot at Elk Creek. Whoops!!

While people were killing each other trying to get $2 DVD's and $5 TV's in the middle of the night, we were sleeping and then went to lunch a Monk's Cafe in Philly. Definitely a better way to spend Black Friday than shopping... :)

We were among the first in the rink (no surprise), so I was able to get some fun shots like this one where the pom-poms awaited the rabid students in the student section of the stands.

Unfortunately, the guys lost the game 3-2 with 20 seconds left in overtime. That's ok though b/c they played really well and even beat AIC in the rematch the following day on the road - in overtime again - 4-3!!

No sooner did we get in the rink and I noticed that something I've waited for for years was installed - panes of plexiglass with holes in them for photographers! Drooling over this development, I went down to see if I could get some access. Well, the "real" press/photographers were going to be using them during the game. Lucky for me that the student working in that corner of the rink was cool and let me take a few shots pre-game. Oh what I wouldn't give to be able to shoot game action without the marked-up plexiglass in the way!! Maybe next time...

Saturday morning's weather was gorgeous, so we made a run up Mt. Nittany - the first time the two of us have hiked it together in all of these years! With the leaves changing color, it was getting really pretty.

Even better was my husband's mega-surprise for me when we got to the spot where the deeded life estates of 1-inch squares are... he got a square in both of our names so we can lay claim to a teensy part of Mt. Nittany! Talk about a surprise! So once I wiped the happy tears away, I had to make sure I got a good shot of the area.

9:30 on a Sunday Morning is considered really early in most college towns. PSU is certainly no exception. That's ok because with all of the students still zonked, I got to take this shot of all of the chairs in a section of the student union building before the kids woke up.
