Why is that for children time never passes fast enough, and they just can't wait to grow up?
And when they actually do grow older, would do just anything to get their youth back?

Youth is much too valuable to be squandered on the young, isn't it? :-)

These days I really feel like someone would spin up the Earth and I'm chronically short of time.
No time to visit friends, to do all that has to be done.
No time for Flickr at all...

Is it just me, or has this planet really got into some crazy spin, getting worse by the day
(in more sense than one)?

This is by far the prettiest kurent I've ever seen.

Traditionally kurenti (that's the proper plural form) could only be men, but traditions are obviously subject to change - and in this particular case, definitely for the better! :-)

The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists,
whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering experience...

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it, is a way of fishing the past from the disposal,
wiping it off,
painting over the ugly parts
and recycling it for more than it's worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen!

In my native language (Slovenian) the phrase "resting one's eyes" isn't a synonym for "being caught sleeping, when one shouldn't" - but rather to be looking at something soothing for the eyes - esp. at some gentle curves... :-)
