Anybody that truly knows me, knows I love baseball. Every time I travel to a major city, I try to visit that city's ballpark and take in a game. Pittsburgh has a gem of a stadium in PNC Park! My goal is to visit every MLB stadium in the next 5 years (before I turn 40). Lofty goal, but I plan to visit Tiger's Stadium in June, Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati in July, and hopefully Fenway Park in August...so, I would be 20% on my way to hitting that goal :)

I was in Vermilion yesterday making my rounds, and I decided to make a stop at Main Street beach on Lake Erie and snap a photo. It was sunny, but quite breezy and chilly!

Not the best image I've taken of this lighthouse, but I do like the fact I can take fairly decent photos with my cell phone when I am on the run. I am really liking this iPhone 4s!!

MUST View Large On Black

Chilly temps kept the crowds down at Progressive Field for Opening Weekend, 2012. Opening Day was another sellout crowd, however.

Progressive Field is one of my favorite places in downtown Cleveland. Taking in a Tribe game has to be one of the greatest joys on a summer afternoon/evening. My goal is to attend 35-40 home game this year. I attended about 20 games or so in 2011, so I think that's an attainable goal. Plus, as good as the Detroit Tigers look so far this year....the Tribe need all the support they can get!

Don't get me wrong, I love color. But, there is something I really like about a high-contrast, black and white photo. I thought this image really lends itself well to just that. Next time I visit Seattle...I'm definitely going photograph this city at night!

As I was walking back to my car earlier after snapping some photos before work, I noticed how sharp that little black Volkswagen looked against the foggy and cold, morning backdrop. Man....I love these chilly temperatures. Bring on Fall already !!!

While it's not easily visible, my car is pretty filthy. But, I've actually been driving it this summer, and racking up some miles for a change.

Not the sharpest of photos, since I took this with my little Nikon D40 & I underexposed this a bit. But, I've learned over time, taking a sub-par photo is better than not taking a photo at all.

MUST View this Large on Black

As some of you know, this is my other Volkswagen GTI....the one that I rarely drive. Maybe 4 times a month, if that. Don't ask me why.....guess I am still not done having fun with my GTI VR6, as that's the car I still drive every day. I've had this MKV GTI for a few years now, and it hardly has any miles on it. I literally think I will be dead before this car reaches 100k miles. Anyways, I was actually driving this car the other evening and decided to stop at the old, abandoned barn at the end of my street & snap a few photos.

HDR created from 5 auto-bracketed exposures (-2,-1,0,+1,+2) with my Nikon D90 and my Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens. Processed HDR with Photomatix 3.2.7, and made final adjustments in Photoshop CS3.

I took a few portraits of Summer, one of my flickr contacts & a fellow photography enthusiast this past autumn down at Cascade Park in Elyria....and I am just getting around to processing them now.

Yeah....I feel like a schmuck.

Summer has a better collection of Nikon lenses than I do, and she is well on her way to putting my photos to shame. Keep doing your thing Summer! :)

I was outside this evening enjoying the nice weather, and captured this in my backyard. Can I still say " Happy Bokeh Wednesday"....or is that so 2008? You can tell how long it's been since I've been truly active on flickr!

I added a slight cross processing effect to this, although I am not digging it. Then again, I am just not good at capturing flowers, so that is probably why. Oh well, I am starting to put my D90 to use again, so I guess that is a good thing.

Many people ask me why I continue to drive this 12 year old Volkswagen GTI when I have a New GTI sitting in the garage. Well, as true VW enthusiasts know....not many VW's sound better than one with a 2.8L 12v VR6 engine with an aftermarket exhaust. That, and I am old-school I guess. Heck, I still own the 1974 Volkswagen Beetle that was my first car.

Or I should say Progressive Field. Ive become quite the MLB fanatic. I have yet to miss an Indians game this year, whether going to a home game or watching the Tribe on SportsTime Ohio on the TV. This past weekend was a big home series against the Texas Rangers, so I made sure to go to both the evening games. It's great that we took the series with Texas and are still solidly in 1st place in the AL Central. Let's just hope the attendance picks up soon!

You know…. as awful as the Cleveland Cavaliers are, their attendance numbers aren’t half bad. They do a good job of filling the seats with group sales and ticket promotions. I’m a big fan of the NBA, but I don’t attend a Cavs game unless there’s some promotion I can take advantage of. The product that’s on the court just isn’t worth the cost of a face value ticket these days!

Thanks Corrie for making the suggestion that Doug and I step out of the EMP (Experience Music Project) and snap some photos. The sky was incredible that afternoon!!

This was just a quick ,hand-held HDR consisting of 3 auto bracketed exposures with my Nikon D90 and Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens. Processed HDR with Photomatix Pro 3.2.7, and made final adjustments in Photoshop CS3.

Looking at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Downtown Cleveland, Ohio on a warm & humid summer day.

This is actually an HDR created from 3 auto-bracketed exposures (-2,0,+2) with Nikon D90 and my Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens. Processed HDR with Photomatix Pro, and did the black and white conversion using Nik Silver Efex Pro, and final adjustments in Photoshop CS3. I'm all about color, but it's been quite a while since I've processed one of these 8 bit TIFF's in monochrome.
