My best guess for this date of this picture of my sister Davi digging fossils in the Santa Monica mountains is mid 1966. My father took this with his Sears (Ricoh Singlex) SLR. I found these on an upper closet shelf in my mother's house about a week ago. I scanned the print first, but the result from the negative is much better.

The Eocene era sea shell fossils here are approximately 50 millions old. The access to this area has been closed since 2001.

There is a shortage of rental units in West Los Angeles, and there is no shortage of aging baby boomers. Perhaps that is why the previous picture I took of this has many hundreds of views as the result of Google searches for this place.

Inscription on the Plaque: For many years, this statue stood in front of and was a trademark for the world renowned Helms Bakery on Venice Boulevard in Los Angeles. On October 6, 1971, it was generously donated to the Marina by the Helms family. In 1975, through the generosity of the Marina's Yacht clubs it was provided with a new helm.

The Helmsman is an approximately 10’ high painted cast concrete figure made in the 1930s.

This hperstereo 3D anaglyph requires RED (left) - Cyan (right) anaglyph glasses to view.
It looks best in the lightbox.

The parking structure is for Sony Studios (fomer MGM).

This image is hyperstereo since the the size of the Pentax 6x7s preclude putting the lenses close enough together for normal stereo. The cameras were mounted side by side on a Hejnar Arca rail. After focusing the cameras I put them both in mirror lock up mode and then fired them simultaneously with a dual release cable. The shutters appear to be firing almost simultaneously evidenced by the sharp image of the moving cars.
