Liking the barriers along Latrobe St at the moment. They're excellent for confining pedestrians and making sure they can't get themselves out of shot.

Gave the 150mm f/2.8 A its first proper run in the field earlier this week. Still think it renders stuff a little digital-like, but I like its CA resistance in super-contrasty light.

So I bought one of them 150mm f/2.8 lenses for the Mamiya 645 when KEH were having one of their sales that they seem to have a lot of lately.

Damn thing's been sitting around for a while, so on it goes for the Melbourne group meet. And yeah, it's not bad. Focusing and composing-wise, it's a lot like using the 80mm f/1.9. Wide open, the DoF is pretty similar. Only you have to stand back about a metre or two from where you'd be with the 80.

Might be a tad sharper than the 80 - that's the impression I get so far, but need to test more. Bokker is a touch better. Still get those silly lemony shapes, but at least they don't have the hard edges. Overall, it's a bit digital-ish, so will have to try it with a nice neg film next time.

And in other news... probably shouldn't have used the expired 400X for portraits. Lots of blue and magenta in the chromes. Have cleaned up most of it, but there's still plenty there.
